GUIDE ON LAMAI SERENGETI (NOMAD) IN TANZANIA
Between July and October, northern Serengeti becomes the site of high-action when the wildebeest migration crosses the Mara River with the goal of reaching the sweet grass plains of Masai Mara in Kenya. It is an out-of-this-world experience as over 1.5 million wildebeests migrate to the greener pastures of Kenya, mingling with the hundreds of thousands of zebras and impalas.
Nestled in the far remote corners of the northern Serengeti National Park lies Nomad's premium luxury safari camp of Lamai Serengeti. This camp was one of its first permanent settlements in this remote location and sits atop Kogakuria Kopje, close to the Mara River. At Lamai Serengeti, every dream trip that you have had about East Africa comes true in the form of an ideal safari holiday experience.
Accommodation At Lamai SerengetiThe first thing you notice about Lamai Serengeti is how symbiotically the safari camp blends into its surroundings and provides upscale luxury amidst the Tanzanian wilderness as part of your exceptional bespoke travel experiences with AfricanMecca Safaris. Careful and opulent design fills every corner and crevice of this northern location camp to truly unify habitats of the wild and humans into one. Because all rooms are situated on the kopje, and there being only eight rooms, there are fewer guests in camp to enjoy personalized and uninterrupted services alongside spectacular views for all to enjoy.
The accommodations at this Nomad Tanzania camp are divided into two areas, a main lodge consisting of eight rooms and a private lodge of four rooms. Each area has a secluded bar, dining space, library, and natural rock pool. The skillful architects have crafted luxurious rooms out of canvas, plaster, natural poles and rocks found on the kopje. This provides a more unique and distinct living experience for all guests. Relaxing on a boulder and watching elephants stroll by the backyard of this Tanzania camp is a noteworthy part of an ultimate safari vacation. The cozy netted beds, light and air ventilated open door and window areas, loungers with plush cushions, carved wooden side tables under brass lamps, earthen pottery, weaved rugs and quirky seating are all part of the surprise that comes with staying at such a premium accommodation during your safari. The bathrooms are fitted with all modern amenities, such as twin basins running hot and cold water, flush toilets, full-length mirrors, and shower area. However, it is the weaved baskets, paper lampshades and stone sink area which differentiate a stay at Lamai Serengeti from a standard hotel room. The lounges are decorated with thatched high lamps and natural tone seating area on wooden floors separated from other areas for privacy and is intended to provide every comfort and joy to AfricanMecca Safaris guests.

- Wildlife is often close to the camp and sounds can be heard at night – this may not be ideal for guests who are light sleepers.
- The best views are from the guest rooms that are at the uppermost part of the property.
- Some of the guest rooms require climbing stairs and may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility – we recommend requesting a room closer to the common areas in the lower section.
- A pride of lions is known to frequent the kopjes at the higher levels of the camp – guests who are intimidated by the closeness to predators may prefer a room that is near the common areas.
- Families who are traveling with children should request a family room due to the distance between individual guest rooms.
