GUIDE ON SERENGETI BUSHTOPS CAMP IN TANZANIA

Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Serengeti Bushtops Camp

Serengeti Bushtops Camp in the Northern Serengeti nestles at the heart of over 14,000 square kilometers of spectacular UNESCO World Heritage wilderness. A small but perfect premier luxury camp offering an outstanding safari accommodation experience and an intimate ambience that hugs your expectations of your awaited dream -- the unadulterated African safari adventure.

It is perfectly situated on the path to observe the annual Great Serengeti Migration as millions of wildebeest and other hoofed herbivores pour across the perilous Mara River crossing, menaced by giant crocodiles and other ferocious predators close to the river bank. Isolated within an area of unmatched natural beauty, Serengeti Bushtops enables you to experience close contact with abundant wildlife during your Serengeti dream trip.

Not only the big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino roam the spreading grasslands and lightly wooded areas, but giraffe, cheetah, jackal, wild dog and hyena as well as large and small herbivores, including dik diks, zebra, eland, gazelle, impala, kudu, hippo and many more are easy to spot on your tour in Serengeti.

Over 500 species of birds, from elegant crowned cranes and scrawny vultures to jewel-like sunbirds and fascinating bower-birds make this varied landscape our “Paradise On Earth”. Serengeti Bushtops is an eco-responsible Orion Hotel’s camp that maintains a sustainable management system to ensure uninterrupted power, water and waste are recycled to protect the precious environment it resides on. It also supports the indigenous culture and its economy by providing employment and a market for village produce as well as cooperating in conservation, education and special sustainable projects.

Accommodation At Serengeti Bushtops Camp

Guests are royally accommodated in 12 luxurious canvas tents, widely spaced to ensure privacy, open to panoramic views of this endless land and the glory of an emblematic Africa holiday sunset. Each palatial tent stands on stilts on a huge wooden deck and comes with en-suite shower and an enormous hot tub, filled from a bore hole with water heated by the sun, where you can relax with a drink and watch the wonder of natural existence unfold around you.

The opulent furnishings include king-size beds, fully fitted elegant bathroom with shower, dining table, writing desk and two-tier decking with comfortable sofa bank seating and sun loungers under an extended awning, lavishly lit at night with authentic safari lanterns. The decor is timeless, spacious and restful in wood and earth tones with cleverly placed ethnic curios. A complex of two tents linked by a wooden bridge walkway is available for families of up to 12 members on an AfricanMecca Safaris vacation to Tanzania, whilst extra beds for two children over 6 years of age or one extra adult can be placed in any of the other roomy tents if required.

A butler service is available 24 hours each day with facilities for private massage service and in-tent dining when required, although gourmet restaurant service is best available in a grand open-sided public dining area, beautifully designed with broad, sweeping steps, fantastically illuminated. The international bar contains an integral wine wall, library and lounge. A genuine Tanzanian safari campfire circled by canvas chairs is the place to relax with sundowner cocktails in hand to swap Africa travel yarns with new acquaintances.

Safari At Serengeti Bushtops Camp

A park ranger will accompany you on guided walks amongst the teeming wildlife on your very doorstep. His presence ensures your safety whilst his and your guide’s enthusiastic expertise is at your command to provide all the information you need to track and find the creatures you most want to see. Stout shoes, good binoculars and a camera are indispensable. But the favorite Africa activities must be the early morning and evening game viewing tours in comfortable, custom built 4X4 people carriers with shade-giving roof awnings and open sides for unimpeded views.

Choose from the Great Migration experience, as innumerable herds of wildebeest and zebra thunder across the plains, tracked by stalking lion and other predators, for heart-stopping photo opportunities of the hunt and kill, or shadow river crossings, a heaving mass of horns and backs surging through churning waters, into the gaping jaws of smiling crocodiles.

In quieter months, the plains are left to herds of baggy-skinned elephant, prides of lordly lions and gangling giraffes, amongst many other interesting denizens of all shapes and sizes from graceful cheetah to gentle antelopes of all kinds and scaly pangolin. Early evening game drives follow herds returning to water and nocturnal predators emerging for their suppers.

Huge, fearsome buffalo rarely move far from the river, nor does the deceptively comical hippopotamus. Leopard, bat-eared foxes, bush babies and aardvark come out at dusk in the shelter of leafy woodlands to add interest to your Serengeti trip. When you retire to rest, regaled by snuffling gnu, roaring lions or barking hyenas, it will be difficult to remember that you are a cultured human, so readily will you relax back into the primitive rhythm of your Tanzania tour.

Dining At Serengeti Bushtops Camp

The cuisine is unfailingly tremendous with fresh foods locally sourced and a full range of traditional, ethnic or international dishes available as well as distinct diets, vegetarian, kosher, halal or gluten free available by arrangement. A delicious early morning wake-up tea or coffee is served, safari style, in your room, while you think of your Serengeti activity tour choices for the morning, either a rewarding early morning game drive, supplied with blankets and hot-water bottles against seasonal chills, followed by full English breakfast, or a continental meal before a guided safari walk on the Tanzanian plains of Serengeti.

Lunch and dinner menus offer delicious soups, light salads, sumptuous roasts, delicate Indian Ocean and lake fish dishes, exquisite puddings, fruit and cheese, with a fine selection of wines, fresh juices, carbonated drinks and many more. A siesta precedes afternoon tea, when the rest of the day is planned. This may be a further Serengeti Bushtops Safari game viewing drive or walk, followed by sundowners around the campfire, or in some other pre-chosen romantic site with wet-bar and full service laid on – serving both honeymooners and lovers of all kinds.

Dinner may be taken in the bush, or in the beautifully appointed dining area where a truly international menu combined with local cuisine options are available, although the chef’s special comes highly recommended each day. Your Serengeti trip affords timeless safari style pampering, comprising chilled white wine taken in the cool evening air before sundown, whilst your driver and guide set up an elegant dining table, consulting your preferences before radioing to the camp to arrange a hot tub or massage for your return.
