GUIDE ON OLE SERAI LUXURY CAMP - KOGATENDE IN SERENGETI
As you begin to envision your ideal globe-wilderness holiday, one that will truly satisfy your inner explorer, imagine yourself surrounded by the vast plains of East Africa, where some of the world’s most cherished species roam freely. Standing before you is a matriarchal family of elephants pulling up vegetation with their lithe trunks, eyes ever-watchful over the young calf chasing white-plumed egrets and engaging in other heartwarming antics. This is only a taste of what you experience as an adventurous bush traveler, and AfricanMecca is your guide for discovering the pristine safari beauty of Serengeti National Park. The northern section of the park is home to enough amazing predators, herbivores and bird species to entice even the most experienced global explorer, and the energy of the area is intensified with the arrival of the Great Migration.
Ole Serai Luxury Camp - Kogatende is a perfect mid-range safari accommodation for witnessing the iconic crossing of the Mara River, as well as an abundance of resident species, including most of the Big 5.
Accommodation At Ole Serai Luxury Camp - KogatendeOle Serai Luxury Camp - Kogatende is a small tented camp with only 13 guest tents, configured as nine double, three twin and one family tent. Each 45-square-meter double or twin tent here is exceptionally arranged to provide all the comfort needs for your bush vacation in Tanzania and ample space to feel homely and relaxed. Decorative elements create a warm elegance, from the tufted chocolate-brown leather headboard to the copper floor fan, which provides gentle air circulation throughout the day. The space is completed with bedside tables and lamps, an in-room safe, tea/coffee maker and other conveniences.
The ensuite bathroom features a vanity, flush toilet and pressurized shower for freshening up after a day on the plains experiencing the daily drama that unfolds in the wilderness travels of Tanzania. Take a moment to appreciate all that Serengeti offers from your private verandah with views of the plains, or enjoy 180-degree views right from your bed! The common areas are great for interacting with other guests, and the camp also offers laundry service, Wi-Fi access, gift shop, massages, a tented lounge and dining facilities.
Safari At Ole Serai Luxury Camp - KogatendeThe highlight of your impressive AfricanMecca trip will undoubtedly be the game drives in Serengeti National Park that are offered in the morning and afternoon or on a full day. Your guide will ask about your wish list first: almost everything you might want to see can be found within your hours spent amid the diversity of the Serengeti ecosystem. One of the most impressive events is the crossing of the Mara River seen during the Great Wildebeest Migration in July through October. Immense herds of wildebeests and zebras gather along the banks of the river, stamping nervously as the creatures recognize the dangers that lie between them and prime grazing grounds.
Steep embankments can break legs and trigger deadly tumbles, ravenous crocodiles lie hidden until their powerful jaws erupt from the river depths, and the fast-moving water creates a current that may carry away even the strongest, as well as the youngest. Having witnessed this yourself, you may find that after you return to camp you need some time to quell the adrenalin rush in your body — say, with a nap or a nature walk to spot birds and other smaller, peaceful denizens of the park. We also recommend hot air balloon safari in Serengeti in the early morning twilight times that ends with a bush breakfast.
Dining At Ole Serai Luxury Camp - KogatendeAt Ole Serai Luxury Tented Camp Kogatende, every sense is engaged, including your tastebuds. Start your day with a hot breakfast, and the camp chef does much more than prepare food to satisfy your outdoor appetite. You’re taken on a flavorful tour at each meal, with dishes such as lamb with mint sauce, chicken stir fry, curried chickpeas, swahili vegetables and lasagna, to name just a few of the African and international options presented to you at lunch and dinner. Picnic lunches made just for your day-long game drives offer a surprising variety, and there’s always fresh fruit to be enjoyed. For those moments when you just want to relax and take in your surroundings, head over to the lounge and request your favorite cocktail from the bartender, find a safari book in the library, and enjoy the unique sights and sounds of northern Serengeti.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
