GUIDE ON SANCTUARY KICHAKANI SERENGETI CAMP IN TANZANIA

Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp

Walk in the footsteps of early explorers, world-renowned nature photographers, and world travelers who have discovered the pristine beauty of Serengeti National Park. Located in the East African country of Tanzania, the Serengeti offers AfricanMecca guests access to a diversity of iconic wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, rhinos, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas… the list goes on and on.

While this may enchant guests for many days, the excitement gets even more intense when the Serengeti migration is in an area of the park. This massive movement of over 1.5 million wildebeests and thousands of zebras is known as the “greatest natural spectacle on the planet,” and you can see this event unfold right before your eyes!

Kichakani is the Swahili word for “in the bush.” This is exactly where you will be at Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp, a premier safari accommodation that is amid the action when the Great Migration moves through north and south Serengeti Park. The camp is designed to provide guests with an ultra-authentic experience that takes them back to the 19th century, when Africa was first being explored.

Accommodation At Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp

With only ten guest tents, you are assured excellent personal attention, including a tent assistant to fill your bucket shower any time of day or night. Elegant décor pampers you with luxury. A gorgeous bed canopied with translucent netting is perfectly positioned to allow each day of your luxury safari holiday to begin with the vision of Tanzania bathed in golden sunlight. Perched upon natural wood nightstands are modern reading lights, while a sculpted chandelier hangs overhead.

Dark wood floors and monotone area rugs create a warm and welcoming ambiance. A full ensuite bathroom offers a flush toilet, vanity, wash basin, and shower. Accent pieces have been thoughtfully chosen to continue the neutral palette to highlight the breathtaking beauty just beyond your front door.

Each tent has a hair dryer, fan, and umbrellas for your convenience. A private wood deck allows you to savor the intimate moments of your dream bush vacation, like gazing across the breathtaking landscape to watch the wildlife activity of Serengeti Park. Every detail at Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp has been carefully planned to embrace guests with a design style that blends classic with modern. The main canvas tent features a lounge, bar, and restaurant that are furnished with exquisite wrought iron sofas, understated side tables, armchairs, impressive artwork, and beautiful chandeliers.

Safari At Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp

Game drives are the prime activity for locating wildlife in Serengeti, and your AfricanMecca guide is an expert at tracking a diversity of animals large and small. You will be amazed to see how even the smallest clue in the bush leads to the most exciting scenes, such as a pride of lions feasting upon a fresh kill or a baby elephant prancing through tall grasses while chasing nearby birds. Game drives take place in the mornings and afternoons, and each time of day offers up unique behaviors from the wildlife.

Setting out into the Tanzania wilderness for a wildlife tour in the early evening is truly spectacular. Being in the bush in the later part of the day makes for a unique travel experience, as you will observe nocturnal species and animal behaviors that only occur as the African sun sets on the horizon. We recommend that you arrange your itinerary for either the northern and southern Serengeti based on wildebeest migration goals (best time) (i.e. Mara River crossings or calving season of the wildebeests). This incredible experience is sure to be a highlight of your exploratory trip.

Dining At Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp

Start each day by joining other guests in the main tent for an aromatic cup of tea or coffee. After your morning excursion, a delicious breakfast awaits back at camp. The chef prepares another spread of tasty delights for lunch, giving you energy for the afternoon activities before arriving back for tea and snacks. Enjoy the vistas with a cocktail in a prime viewing location in the bush or with other guests back at camp. The chef specializes in dishes that combine international and local flavors — including Swahili cuisine — and your entrée may be served with kachumbari, a traditional Tanzanian salsa.
