Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Four Seasons Safari Lodge

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti (previously managed as Kempinski Bilila Lodge) is built on an outcrop of three-million-year-old rocks above the vast landscape overlooking the rolling plains of the Central Serengeti, acclaimed as Africa's most outstanding game park. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering almost 15,000 square kilometres. It is home to an immense range of fascinating wildlife including larger mammals of over 70 species.

More than 500 birds make it a favorite African tour destination for bird-loving "twitchers", whilst photographers are drawn to the Great Migration in which millions of wildebeest and zebra, hunted by thousands of would-be predators from lions and cheetahs to giant crocodiles, make their dramatic annual trek to and from the Masai Mara in Kenya every year. Security fencing and the local knowledge of experienced Maasai guides ensure your safety in proximity to wildlife on your Africa safari.

You may see them all, including the Big Five: the game rated most dangerous by Edwardian hunters; elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. Here, you can enjoy the best of luxurious and relaxed Africa holidays while watching elephants and many other animals at their water holes from the elevated comfort and safety of wooden walkways, indoor rooms, decks, infinity pools or your own private bath. If your Tanzania tour is intended as a honeymoon safari.

Four Seasons Safari Lodge is the perfect venue for an upmarket lodge experience, offering a truly memorable experience that combines pampering with privacy especially for guests looking for a hotel like experiences in the Serengeti. You could even celebrate a unique wedding ceremony with family and friends together on the far-spreading plains, incorporating a traditional Maasai boma blessing with tribal dancing for a truly magical event of a lifetime with AfricanMecca.

Accommodation At Four Seasons Safari Lodge

This larger than life luxury lodge has a main house as the centrepiece of a complex of indoor and outdoor dining venues, spa, fitness, cultural learning and business centres joined by walkways to guest rooms and suites; the glorious infinity pool with bar-service and sunbeds overlooking a game water-hole where a herd of up to 30 elephant gathers to drink and play adds to the spectacular design of the lodge.

Accommodation comprises a total of 60 guest rooms, 12 suites with two bedrooms and 5 free-standing three-bedroom villas, all with unobstructed views over the Serengeti, providing outstanding home from home accommodation for over 150 guests with luxurious sleeping areas, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, refrigerated bar, flat-screen TV and Internet access.

All the villas have kitchens and their own private infinity pools. The spa offers intuitive care using local rituals, massage, minerals and herbs. A superbly equipped fitness centre is open daily as is the cultural Discovery Centre, where you can get involved with local Maasai culture and learn about their history and daily life. A business centre, open 24 hours, offer phone, fax, computers, audio-visual equipment, adaptors and transformers as well as multilingual assistance for AfricanMecca guests with express checking, currency exchange, printing, entertainment, or travel arrangements.

For children aged 8-17, the complimentary Kijana Club provides craft rooms, games, videos and supervised activities based on local flora and fauna. Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is an impeccable place to stay for families on an African safari with younger children needing a classy safe lodge experience.

Safari At Four Seasons Safari Lodge

There will be many opportunities to engage with the local people and their beloved wildlife on your Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti safari. The Maasai Cultural Discovery Centre and children's Kajani group are only two. Dancing and singing with the Maasai gives real insight into the character of these proud and friendly people, an experience to treasure when you look back on your fantastic Tanzania holiday with AfricanMecca. Game drives with a knowledgeable guide are a favorite activity on a Tanzania safari.

From the safe viewpoint of your 4x4 vehicle, you can track wildlife, especially migrating herds at the time of the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration. The vehicles guides are in touch with other guided vehicles to ensure that you have the best chance of following the animals you most want to see. There are early drives in the cooler morning air when you will have unrivalled opportunities to film incredible numbers of different large mammals.

During the prime season, the most breath-taking experience of any Serengeti tour is to watch the annual migration of the wildebeest in their unimaginable and sheer numbers as they flow across the grassland, like waves on an endless sea. Late afternoon game drives focus on wildlife returning to waterholes and predators emerging for their evening hunt.

The Olduvai Gorge outside the Ngorongoro Crater, nominated as the Cradle of Mankind, with its fascinating museum, is also worth a visit, while an early morning balloon safari across the plains is a memorable option. After a few days in this incomparably stimulating environment, you will hardly have reached home before you are planning your next Serengeti trip.

Dining At Four Seasons Safari Lodge

Dining options range from room service to three restaurants, a wine cellar and two bars. This is quite exceptional luxury compared with many other Tanzania safari lodges and camps. All day dining provides breakfast a la carte and an extensive menu suitable for jet-lagged travelers and those who prefer to dine in privacy. Kula's Restaurant seats 100, indoors or out, with spectacular views over the plains. They offer twice daily buffet service at breakfast and dinner featuring modern, African inspired grills, exotic desserts and fine wines.

In a separate room, also decorated with ethnic designs, is the Wine Cellar where up to 16 people can hold a wine-tasting party, concentrating on fine African wines. Step in to the The Maji Bar for simple and easy to order light lunches, freshly made organic salads, tapas, pastas, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches served with stimulating cocktails. Evening bar service is available.

Boma Grill offers an authentic African dinner feast of a la carte grills around a blazing outdoor fire pit with traditional Maasai dancing, whilst Sundowner Bar is a casual, informal lounge where, if you wish, you can enjoy the view of the watering hole and its evening visitors, over a drink you choose for yourself.

Wherever possible, fruit, vegetables and meats are fresh, wholesome local produce. A range of beverages, juices, teas and coffee are sourced in Tanzania. Vegetarian options are available. Special diets can be provided by arrangement with AfricanMecca Safaris.
