GUIDE ON KUBU KUBU TENTED LODGE IN SERENGETI
Central Serengeti is a nature traveler’s dream come true! Home to the Seronera Valley, the region has large populations of both herbivores and carnivores, and the birding is delightful. Elephants, giraffes, hippos, topis, buffaloes, and impalas are just some of the large grazers. Since predators will be at the top of your list of things to see, you can look forward to cheetahs, lions, hyenas, and leopards, among others. Peek inside the canopy of the woodlands to locate primates such as olive baboons, vervet monkeys, and the shy, nocturnal bushbabies. The landscape itself offers ample variety, including the Maasai Kopjes, bizarre candelabra trees, and amazing flowers that pop with color. This pristine wilderness is also one of the many places in Tanzania where you can witness the thundering herds of the Great Serengeti Migration that traverse the area in April and May when heading west, as well as December and January when heading south.
Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge distinguishes itself from other deluxe safari accommodations by offering a unique style and excellent location in central region of Serengeti National Park. The camp is set up near the Seronera with access to the Maasai kopjes, Orangi and Seronera Rivers. Open year-round, Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge is a great travel base for seeing resident African species, as well as the arrival of more than 1.5 million wildebeests and thousands of zebras that follow a continuous path through the park as part of the migration.
Accommodation At Kubu Kubu Tented LodgeWith 25 guest tents, including options specifically for families, Kubu Kubu is ideal for guests who want to enjoy the action with friends, family, and fellow visitors. Tents come with a double bed or two twins, as well as an ensuite bathroom with wash basin, bucket shower, and flush toilet. The décor reflects a contemporary African style that combines warmth with colorful elements. Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge offers a swimming pool for afternoon dips after your action-packed safari trip to explore the Tanzanian wilderness. Electricity is provided via solar energy.
Safari At Kubu Kubu Tented LodgeThe centerpiece of your dream safari holiday in Tanzania is being in the wilderness. You’ll head out into the heart of Serengeti after sunrise with a guide and 4x4 vehicle to find the animals beginning to emerge from the seclusion of the bush, finding their way to water and tasty vegetation. You may even catch a younger animal playfully welcoming the new day. Standard game drives are two to three hours, but we can include an all-day outing in your ideal safari vacation itinerary to allow more time to observe African species. You then have some hours to take a siesta after a swim, update your travel journal, and write home to your family.
End the day watching the glorious sunset, cocktail in hand, and join other guests around the fire to share stories of your memorable experiences in Serengeti National Park. The unbelievable romance of Africa beckons you to discover its beauty as many early explorers did — aloft in a balloon safari. Before arriving at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, we recommend you take a cultural tour of a local Maasai village close to Ngorongoro Crater and engage in traditional activities of tribe who have lived in the Tanzania bush for many generations. If you wish to experience this, AfricanMecca can make the arrangements for a wholesome safari experience.
Dining At Kubu Kubu Tented LodgeThe lounge is an excellent place to spend your free time with a refreshing cocktail and favorite book, and the on-site restaurant prepares meals that can be served in the dining area or in your tent. Guests also enjoy putting together their own picnic boxes for game drives in Serengeti, which are the main activities at the camp. In the late morning, your guide returns you and other guests to camp for a buffet breakfast. Lunch is served at camp, or we can request a bush picnic as part of your full day game drive. Upon your return back in the evening, sit around the campfire after sunset and await a divine dinner of delicious meats, vegetables, salads, and so much more!

What We Like About Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge
- The food at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge is very good, and drinks are included in the rooming price
- This is a mid-size camp with 25 guest tents, and also ideal for small groups or families traveling together
- Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge is centrally located with easy access to attractions, and has a great location with superb views of the park and wildlife — there is an authentic wilderness ambiance around the camp
- The rooms are large in size. There is a pool at the property. It is all open all year round, and staff provide very good service
- Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge is priced appropriately as a deluxe accommodation
Things To Note When Staying At Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge
- The camp is set on a hillside, so guest tent views are variable — tents on the lower level have the best views
- The primary activity at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge is game drives, and balloon safaris can be added as an add-on activity
- Dining is done on individual guest tables. The camp does not offer hosted dinners where all guests sit together in a long table. This is due to the size of the lodge i.e. 50+ guests during the peak season
- WiFi is available in the main area. Laundry service is reasonably priced, and the room safes seem to have their own temperament
- This is a hybrid tented lodge experience, rather than a 100% canvas tent build

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
