GUIDE ON OLE SERAI LUXURY CAMP - MORU KOPJES, TURNER SPRINGS & SERONERA IN SERENGETI
The central section of Serengeti National Park offers AfricanMecca guests varied safari experiences, from witnessing the massive herds of the seasonal Great Wildebeest Migration to watching large felines stalk their prey throughout the year. Ole Serai Luxury Camp offers guests a choice of three distinct camps in Central Serengeti. The first camp, branded as Ole Serai Luxury Camp – Moru Kopjes, is just a few meters from a spot along the Mbalageti-Seronera River between the Rongai and Nyaroboro Hills.
The second camp, branded as Ole Serai Luxury Camp - Turner Springs, is set on the border of three water catchments, around 17 km from the park headquarters and airstrip. The picturesque location is surrounded by desirous acacia trees that provide wild tranquility amid grazing herbivores and stalking carnivores. The third camp is branded as Ole Serai Luxury Camp - Seronera and located 14km from Seronera Airstrip in the heart of Central Serengeti. It’s a spectacular location atop the slopes of Makoma Hills with views of the Makoma-Seronera Plains — an area known for large populations of cheetahs - as well as Thatch Kopjes, which is home to a well-known pride of lions.
Ole Serai Luxury Camps at Moru Kopjes, Turner Springs, and Seronera are deluxe accommodations for your trip to explore East Africa. The sites of the camps ensure that you have 180-degree views of the flora and fauna for which Serengeti is known worldwide. Ole Serai Luxury Camps include facilities such as a spa, library, and a small shop for African souvenirs and other sundries that you may need during your outback travels. Ole Serai Luxury Camps secure electricity from solar energy and use a backup generator when necessary. Guests can access free WiFi in the main lounges, and laundry service is available at an extra charge.
Accommodation At Ole Serai Luxury Camp - Moru Kopjes, Turner Springs & SeroneraAt each of Moru Kopjes and Turner Springs, 20 guest tents are available with several sleeping configurations, including 14 double tents and 4 twin tents, each measuring 45 square meters, as well as an interconnecting family tent that measures 105 square meters. Seronera offers 9 guest tents. All of the rooms are done up in pleasing tones of muted beige, ecru, and olives. Each tent stands on a raised wooden platform and offers the yesteryear safari ambiance thanks to a chandelier hanging from the canvas ceiling, thick rugs on the floor, and plush sofas covered with leather. Mirrors and a desk and chair add to the quaint yet elegant charm.
Begin each day of your mesmerizing wildlife safari holiday by awakening to the savannah plains of Tanzania, outstretched just beyond your bed. Have a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of your tent, and then find a cozy place on the private verandah to listen to the echoes of wildlife awakening to the dawn. You are well-rested and ready for the day’s adventure, thanks to the comfortable memory foam mattress. Freshen up in the ensuite bathroom, complete with a flush toilet, washbasin, and pressurized hot shower. Your tent also includes a hairdryer, personal safe, and floor fan.
Safari At Ole Serai Luxury Camp - Moru Kopjes, Turner Springs & SeroneraSet out with your AfricanMecca guide to begin your bush tour in search of your personal Tanzania adventure. Explore the landscape and locate elephants, giraffes, warthogs, hippos, and other resident prey that always have the attention of leopards, cheetahs, lions, hyenas, and other plains hunters. The Serengeti Great Wildebeest Migration is in the central region during April and May before proceeding to the western and northern sectors, and then again in December and January before heading down to the southern sector. The Seronera area of central Serengeti offers year-round game-viewing experiences, with large populations of herbivores and carnivores that remain even after the mighty throngs of wildebeests and zebras have gone.
AfricanMecca also recommends experiencing a hot air balloon ride over Serengeti National Park to complement your terrestrial vacation experience. When driving to Ole Serai Luxury Camp from Ngorongoro, you have the opportunity to stop by a Maasai village to learn more about their culture. Listen as they describe their traditions, share intriguing stories, teach Maasai words, and describe how to make fire. If you’re planning a romantic escape in the Serengeti, Ole Serai Luxury Camp offers a honeymoon package that includes flower petals and sparkling wine in your tent, as well as private dining.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
