Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Lemala Ndutu Camp

Located inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the southern border of the Serengeti National Park, Lemala Ndutu Camp offers luxurious tented accommodation nestled amidst umbrella thorn acacia trees. The private campsite is situated along the grassy plains filled with resident and migratory fauna.

Your tour of Africa at Lemala Ndutu Camp includes daily game drives and optional walks within the Serengeti ecosystem. As part of the Great Serengeti Migration, the southern Serengeti landscape around the camp serves as calving grounds for over one million wildebeests and thousands of zebras starting from December to March each year.

Over 8,000 wildebeest calves are born each day when the birthing season kicks off though the duration of live births varies on seasonal and natural factors. Within minutes, a wildebeest calf must stand or risk being abandoned and left at the mercy of stealthy predators that are camouflaged by the tall grasses. From your guided AfricanMecca vehicle, you watch, wait and hope as each calf stumbles on wobbly legs responding to the gentle encouragement of its mother.

Seeing new life taking on the wild challenge to survive is one of the most memorable experiences of your trip to Serengeti. The supplemented diverse landscape includes a savannah where black rhino and cheetah breed among enormous termite mounds, Acacia Tortilis and isolated rock formations. The savannah is also home to over 500 species of birds and 100 sub-species of the curious dung beetle. South of the camp, hippos and water-loving birds bask in beautiful lakes with reflections of the glorious blue skies of Africa.

Safari At Lemala Ndutu Camp

Your Lemala Ndutu Camp safari experience begins when you board one of the open-sided or pop-roof 4x4 safari vehicles depending on the safari logistics you booked. You travel in comfort as your experienced and knowledgeable AfricanMecca guide takes you to locations where vast numbers of an assortment of fauna graze, hunt, drama and bask in the grasses.

AfricanMecca Safaris gives you up-close-and-personal access to one of the most sought after events in the natural world -- the Great Migration. Over one million wildebeest and thousands of zebra traverse the Serengeti throughout the year. Lemala Ndutu Camp is uniquely located near the calving grounds where newborn life brings the promise of future generations.

You also see resident fauna, including majestic carnivores, such as lion, cheetah, serval, graceful hoofed herbivores, such as gazelle, antelope, reedbuck and many others. Your guide maintains radio communication with other guided safari vehicles to share information such as last sightings, foot trails and sounds. He supplements this critical information with his expert guiding and topography skills to give you an incredible and exciting African safari experience by taking you to vantage points where you will see unique or the largest number of wildlife.

Upon request, private safari vehicles and guides are available to AfricanMecca guests with prior arrangement. The marsh near the camp is a perfect location for a bush walk with an armed guide. You see ferocious crocodile sunning on the shore and stalking their prey in the water while avi-fauna, such as stork, flamingo and many others search the water for fish to catch. When you plan your travel to Africa, request a Serengeti hot air balloon safari experience to see the uninterrupted wildlife behaviors and interactions from high above the vast grassy plains of the Serengeti.
