GUIDE ON NEPTUNE MARA RIANTA LUXURY CAMP
Secluded within a loop of the Mara River as it follows a serpentine path through the serene Mara North Conservancy is the Neptune Mara Rianta Camp (formerly known as Exploreans Mara Rianta Camp). Arrive at the camp for your exploratory vacation in south-western Kenya to warm smiles, cool drinks and a tranquil atmosphere with the rustle of the waterway flowing by and orchestrated melodies of the birds. Built entirely of canvas atop an elevated wooden deck, with lush vegetation all around, this mid-range accommodation has a spacious, interconnected common area that includes the reception, lounge, bar and dining area. Adorned with East African wall hangings and colonial themed center tables, the lounge has speckled plush leather sofas for your relaxation. Have your meals in the part al-fresco environment of the Acacia Dining Room or on the riverside deck outside or simply sip cool sundowner drinks to the singing of crickets and trumpeting of elephants as the evening settles over Masai Mara. A collection of 20 guest tents, each with views of the river are readied for your stay while photo touring Masai Mara with AfricanMecca. Only canvas walls with large mesh windows separate you from the wilderness and the entire front of your tent can be rolled up so you are one on one with nature. Choose from tented rooms with a king size double bed covered with quality bedding or from similar twin beds. If you need a cot or crib for your baby, kindly request it prior to arrival. Your tent also includes single person sofas, side tables, safety deposit box, writing desk and chair (read more on where else to stay in Masai Mara National Reserve). Enjoy his and her basins augmented with a vista-shower experience on your intimate African wilderness trip but should you need privacy, you can request your butler to lower the canvas flap. One of the tents has a Victoria-clawed detached bathtub -- perfect for safari honeymooners. Spend time on your deck, watching the hippos wallow in the river, grunting to warn parched fauna if they get too close while crocodiles keep a close eye for any careless terrestrial move. Pick out a book from the camp's mini-library and learn about the wondrous wildlife of Masai Mara Game Reserve before you go exploring in custom-equipped safari vehicles under the direction of your experienced guide. Listen with awe to his detailed individual narratives that you will not find in any tome alongside his traditional Maasai lore steeped in a deep love for nature. You will experience more of it when you visit the Maasai village nearby where you will have an up, close and personal cultural vacation experience from making fire to even milking their cattle if you prefer. Masai Mara will weave a spell of enchantment around you with every step and as you go on bush walks, your naturalist guide will talk to you about the flora and its amazing healing properties. As you waft over the terrain in hot air balloons, you will be entranced by its varied topography and the wildlife you can view from a different angle. From July to October, You can even witness the Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration as it crosses the plains on its epic journey from the Serengeti, repeated year after year. Return to the camp for a pampering session at the camp's Mvua African Rain Spa and later join in the ethnic festivities as Maasai dancers regale you with their lively dances. Later enjoy a barbecue dinner beside the pool. Every meal you have at the Neptune Mara Rianta Camp is presented to you with care and regard for your dietary requirements. AfricanMecca wildlife holidayers also have the option of experiencing private bush meals during your Masai Mara travels.
