WEDDING SAFARIS IN KENYA

Are You Planning A Wedding Safari In Kenya? Scroll Down For Details..

The centerpiece of your wedding is a true sense of romance and intimacy upon which you build your life together. As you consider venues for your wedding ceremony, you may feel drawn to more exotic locations that set your nuptial apart from all others. The savannah plains of Kenya give you exactly the type of wedding that you desire! Kenya is more than just a superb honeymoon safari destination.

The people, wildlife and landscapes of Kenya are the perfect place to share your commitment, devotion and everlasting love. An adventurous Kenyan tour also brings out your inner explorer and evokes a natural child-like curiosity. Choose your marriage ceremony site from some of Kenya’s premier national parks and reserves, including Masai Mara, Samburu, Amboseli, Tsavo East, Lake Naivasha and Laikipia.

When the day arrives, you awaken to a golden sunrise that paints the grassy plains in glorious light. Elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, impalas and other grazers slowly make their way to watering holes, emitting low grunts and other sounds to communicate amongst others in the herds. Majestic lions, stealthy leopards, opportunist hyenas, spotty cheetahs and other carnivores keep close watch over the prey animals, awaiting the opportunity to garner food for their families.

You and your guests journey out to the bridal spot where an area has been specially designed just for you. Whether you desire elegance with crystal and china setup underneath an umbrella acacia or a modest, rustic ceremony with safari chairs and cognac, your AfricanMecca wedding safari will far exceed your expectations!

Arranging an exotic wedding in Kenya may seem like a daunting task, but we are here to help! AfricanMecca Safaris specializes in nuptial travel in Kenya, so you need not worry about any details great or small. We arrange intimate gatherings, grand multi-day weddings and everything in between. We can even arrange a traditional East African wedding ceremony that mirrors that of the Maasai or Samburu tribe!

We have hand-selected accommodations for every taste to ensure that your wedding night is tender, peaceful and private. Your camp or lodge will have few guests, so you enjoy personalized service and no crowds. We can also arrange for lodgings that offer the utmost isolation amidst the Kenyan bush, but you should expect to pay more for these types of accommodations.

Your wedding planner also arranges all of your complementary safari activities for after your wedding, such as game drives, village visits, hand-in-hand nature strolls and even a sensational hot air balloon safari. Hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, camelback safaris, mountain trekking, bush walks and so much more can all be included in your trip itinerary. We also recommend that you escape to the Kenyan coastline for your honeymoon where stretches of white sand beaches meet the brilliant azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean.

Legal Requirements For Safari Weddings In Kenya

Safari weddings in Kenya are not only fabulous, but the ceremonies are relatively informal, though perfectly coordinated with proper preparation under the expert guidance of an AfricanMecca wedding planner. Like other parts of the world, a Kenyan safari wedding requires that you follow regulations and properly register with authorities. You should start this process well before the ceremony, and we recommend a minimum of six weeks before your wedding day. You need to fax or email scanned copies of the following documents prior to arrival, and you will need the originals with you.

  • Provide the Kenyan registrar with full name, address, religious preference/belief system/faith and occupation of both the bride and groom
  • Certified copies of valid passports, proof of name changes by deed poll, birth certificates and divorce decree(s) if the bride and/or groom were previously married
  • Written confirmation from a legal organization, such as church, civil registrar in home country or doctor, verifying that neither the bride or groom is not currently married
  • Written parental consent of marriage for those under 18 years of age
Additionally, one week before the wedding, AfricanMecca will send a formal written request to the registrar requesting to officiate the ceremony on your preferred date. The bride and groom need to sign the letter. We also recommend you arrive at least five working days prior to your wedding date. Only select safari destinations and accommodations in Kenya are well-appointed for safari weddings, so we advise your options so you can plan accordingly around your budget. Locations may include national parks or other protected areas such as a private conservancy in Laikipia or Masai Mara.

Safari weddings in Kenya include many traditional elements, such as a bridal bouquet. You may choose a round or tear-drop bouquet made from fresh, beautiful carnations, anthuriums, roses, seasonal lilies, lisianthus and other gorgeous delicate touches. We can even arrange for a makeup artist and hairstylist for you and your wedding party, as well as spa treatments. Other details that we arrange are music, videography, photography, traditional Maasai wedding dances, blessings by elders and singing ceremonies.

Prepare for the big day with an intimate, private candlelight dinner surrounded by pristine wilderness and murmuring wildlife. The arrangements may also include a reception banquet, vacation accommodations for your family and friends, transportation from your accommodation to the wedding site, divinely decorated wedding cake, champagne and so much more! The perfect ending to your nuptial ceremony is your African honeymoon on the beaches of the Indian Ocean.
