Mara Bush Camp - Private Wing is a deluxe, eco-friendly camp, sited beside a tributary of the Talek River, the rain-dependent Olare Orok River that flows through the Masai Mara National Reserve. Looking out over a hippo pool, AfricanMecca guests staying at the camp for their adventure holiday in south-western Kenya can spend long hours on their viewing deck simply watching these giants wallowing in the water, yawning to display their tusks and snorting to warn other hippos in the pool of their dominant presence.



On your arrival at this frill bush camp, you will be welcomed with refreshing towels and cool drinks and invited to relax for a while in the lounge with its comfortable sofas and warm, inviting feel. Later you will be shown to one of the 12 guest tents, the camp offers. The riverine glade offers a natural curtain between the tents, and since they are placed at comfortable intervals from each other, you will have most of the privacy you need.

Eight of the tents offer you views of the river and hippo pool while the other four offer an ambience of serenity in the lush wilderness. Some of the tents have double beds while others twins. You can also request for the rooms that can sleep three campers. If you are traveling to Masai Mara Reserve with family of four, you can request for either of the two Family Tents, each of which comprises of one double bed, and two added single beds. All the beds come covered with mosquito netting draped on their four-poster frames.



Wooden platforms form the heightened base of the tents includes a writing table, chair, closet and also a wooden chest that lends a colonial touch to the canvas room. The patio faces the river or lush wilderness, and you can use the comfortable deck chairs to relax and watch the wildlife drinking at the river or passing by. Weather permitting, you can have al fresco lunches served buffet style. At other times, your meals are served in the camp's dining area.
