Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Singita Serengeti House

Singita Serengeti House is quite outstanding at the heart of the private Grumeti Reserves of 350,000 acres on the Western Serengeti flanks of Sasakwa Hill amid the famous endless plains of northern Tanzania. Tours in Tanzania often focus on the Serengeti National Park, now recognized as one of the wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, covering 15,000 square kilometers (5700 sq. miles) of grassland, acacia forest and flood and swampy plain from the base of Lake Victoria, through Tanzania to the border of the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Singita Serengeti House can only be booked exclusively for up to eight AfricanMecca guests – be it families or parties of friends, as a beautiful and luxurious base for an unforgettable Africa vacation. Designed for the more discerning traveler by Boyd Ferguson of Cecile and Boyd's, furnished and styled with practical furniture of elegant bleached raw wood in an opulent yet relaxed intrinsically African décor, the elegant homestead offers flexibility and friendly individual service, just the way you want it. All staff and amenities are included. You have your own house staff, safari guide and chef and a private vehicle to do as you please, when you please. Guests decide for themselves what they want to do, what they want to eat, where, how and when. Activities may include swimming, mountain biking, and a choice of Serengeti trips with your own guide by custom open side 4x4 or even on two legs – bush walks. Take a picnic if you wish. You may also choose to have a massage or a cookery lesson. It is up to you. You can also take on archery and tennis on a private court. Horse riding is available as optional add on.

Accommodation At Singita Serengeti House

The main house contains two expansive bedroom suites, a fine dining area and a spacious lounge (Read more other accommodation types in Serengeti). There are two more garden guest suites balanced by side of the main house and accessible by walkways connecting a 25-metre infinity swimming pool and deck with day beds, which safely overlooks a waterhole frequented by local game and wildlife as well as by a small herd of breeding elephant. Each suite has complimentary WIFI Internet access, an outdoor terrace with shower and a generous bathroom extended from the sleeping area. The theme of the house is that of continuity with the wonderful landscape outdoors, repeated in the earth and ivory color scheme, the whimsical use of natural materials, wood, stone, grass matting and rattan, chandeliers of leather thongs and papier-mache mock hunting trophies interspersed with authentic African art work. These bathe in uninterrupted light from the limitless grass plains all around reflected in large and strategically placed mirrors. For AfricanMecca guests, there is plenty of room to relax both indoors and out, to chill out alone with a book, to watch the wild animals as they come to drink, to enjoy the panoramic Serengeti plains vistas of beautiful bush landscape, or the close companionship and conversation of your chosen comrades.

Safari At Singita Serengeti House

A Singita Serengeti House safari is personally planned to meet your preferences. AfricanMecca guests can choose a guided morning game drive in their own private and exclusive use 4x4 to see the year-round population of game that include the proud lion, the lumbering hippo, graceful eland, the stressed dik diks or cuddly hyrax. Stay out all day with a picnic lunch if you prefer. Or you can take a late evening drive to see the nocturnal wonders, perhaps a hunting leopard, a clapping nightjar or a large-eyed bush baby, or simply gaze at the black velvet sky diamonded with thousands upon thousands of sparkling stars. You may even plan your Tanzania safaris to coincide with the annual migration of over one million wildebeests and thousands of other hoofed herbivores, including zebra and Thomson gazelles as they move through the various pockets and round-sections of the Serengeti National Park, darkening the plains as far as the eye can see. This will be an unforgettable highlight of your Africa travel. For a change, drive a short distance to the Singita Singita Sasakwa Lodge, where you will find a yoga room, a spa, fully equipped gym, ethnic art gallery, boutique and equestrian center where experienced riders can arrange fantastic African horseback Serengeti tours. Less than 10 years ago, the breathtaking Singita Grumeti landscape had been poached and hunted until no game were left. Stronger approaches to conservation, community-centered initiatives and the prevention of poaching led to the revival of a healthy ecosystem with a resident game population, and the protection of the 1 million game animals that make the yearly crossing of the Serengeti, through the wilderness of the Grumeti Reserves leading up to northern Serengeti and then finally into Masai Mara in Kenya.

Dining At Singita Serengeti House

Singita Serengeti House staff chef like to offer warm, personal service to their guests, often welcoming them into the kitchen and doing all that he or she can to accommodate individual needs and tastes, adapting to whatever guests require, from picnics to candle-lit elegant dining. Special dietary needs and gourmet preferences are met with relative ease but needs to be communicated to AfricanMecca before arrival. All food is freshly prepared from wholesome local produce, with home baked bread and cakes to your particular fancy. The chef at Singita Serengeti House is happy to consult on food preferences and even to share knowledge and expertise in a hands-on kitchen experience with foodies or anyone whose idea of holiday fun is to prepare their own food. There is also a well-stocked cellar of award-winning wines. Picnics can be prepared for the adventurous group that wants to spend the entire day on the plains on game drives. Families on safari can snack on delicious rusks with freshly brewed coffee or cocktails then end the night with a barbecue. An outdoor dinner for families and friends together can be set up at lovely locations out in the bush and guests will have a night to remember on this Tanzanian vacation. As there is no set menu, you can request meals and the staff can cater to every whim of every member of the party.
