AfricanMecca invites you to explore the beauty of Serengeti National Park, a world-renowned travel destination for the curious, adventurous, and thrill seeking. Elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, and other resident herbivores are joined by leopards, cheetahs, lions, and other great hunters to keep guests engaged at every turn. The highlight of your dream safari holiday, though, will no doubt be the massive herds of over a million wildebeests and thousands of contrasting zebras.

Experience the Great Migration in Tanzania at the deluxe Serengeti Sojourn. The mobile camp moves between two key areas in Serengeti National Park to give guests the best possible wildlife viewing. From the beginning of June to the end of October, the camp operates in the Lobo area of eastern Serengeti, where guests can access both the Grumeti and Mara Rivers. From mid-December to March, the camp is in the southern plains of the Serengeti in the Ndutu area, where guests enjoy cool weather with short rains, as well as the birthing of more than 8,000 wildebeest calves each day over the course of three weeks. The camp does not operate in April, May, November, and early December.

Accommodation At Serengeti Sojourn

Spending an adventure-packed vacation at Serengeti Sojourn allows you to relax in between your activities and enjoy unexpected comfort in the remote areas of Tanzania. Guest facilities include a lounge tent with a stocked bar and dining area. Enjoy board games and reading materials while lounging on a comfortable sofa in the main tent. Laundry service and shoe cleaning are available. Serengeti Sojourn is powered entirely by solar energy.

The 10 deluxe tents are 32 square meters each — large enough for two adults and one child. Sleeping configurations include two twin beds, one double bed, or a double bed with a cot. Should you require more room for your family holiday, Serengeti Sojourn also offers two family tents (42 square meters) with one double bed for parents and two single beds for youngsters to call home while they explore the exceptional beauty of Serengeti Park. Children must be at least six years old to stay at Serengeti Sojourn, due primarily to the wildlife that often ventures into the camp.

Each guest tent has a separate sleeping area and an adjoining ensuite bathroom with double vanity, small mirrors, a flush toilet, and a bucket shower. Furnishings include butterfly chairs, daybeds, and reading lamps on the headboard. There is also a small writing desk and chair for updating your travel journal and writing to family members back home. The shaded private verandah has chairs and small tables for relaxing in the early mornings and evenings, while mosquito netting and privacy drapes cover the windows of the tent. Turn down service is provided daily, and your needs are tended to by a personal valet.

If you’re traveling with others, it’s possible to secure Serengeti Sojourn exclusively for groups of up to 20 people, giving you a private base for your exhilarating trip to witness the Great Migration.

Safari At Serengeti Sojourn

Spend your days in the Serengeti taking morning and afternoon game drives with your guide, who helps you discover the many species that call the plains home. The deluxe accommodations of Serengeti Sojourn, coupled with specialized children’s activities, make this camp an excellent choice for families. Your little one can join the Rafiki Club, enjoy activity books, participate in special events, and much more! Of course, your children are welcome to join you and other adventure-seeking travelers on morning and afternoon game drive across the Serengeti plains. Balloon safaris can be experienced when the camp is situated in the Ndutu south region.
