MACUSHLA HOUSE IN NAIROBI
After your lengthy international flight trip into Nairobi for your adventurous safari trip with AfricanMecca, Macushla House offers a homely setting to release the stress of your travels. You have your choice of 6 homely rooms that maintain a feeling of being a personal guest of the owners, yet you always have the utmost privacy when desired. Rooms are individually decorated with rich colors to surround you with the experience of your earthy safari in Kenya, all complemented with local and international artwork. Whether you are traveling alone, as a family, couple or as budget honeymooners, you will be enchanted by the charm of Macushla House and the friendly, attentive nature of the staff who take great pride in the quality of service you receive. Warm natural light filters through the windows, inviting you to peer out into lush gardens, home to many bird species, vervet, squirrel and many other small African denizens. A stone path leads you to a sparkling swimming pool where you may restore your energy and soak up the sun after an action-packed city tour in Nairobi’s metropolis. All guests have access to free WiFi in the lounge, as well as laundry services. Macushla House also offers boardroom facilities for your miniature seminars, business meetings and workshops.
Should you prefer to read a favorite novel or journal about your memorable vacation in Kenya, the study offers the solitude you need and the sitting area with fireplace is absolutely cozy, augmented by cushions and sofa upholstery displaying markings of leopard spots and zebra stripes. The bar serves delicious cocktails and other spirited concoctions that can be enjoyed on the veranda during the day and at the lookout point at the end of the garden at sunset. Macushla is primarily a bed and breakfast house, so AfricanMecca recommends you explore your culinary quests off the property at Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Garden or The Carnivore for meat lovers. Macushla House is well-suited for all of your urban holiday activities in Nairobi. Guided city tours take you to galleries, museums, shops, street markets and much more, and your AfricanMecca Safaris representative can also arrange wildlife-based tours of Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, as well as site tours that highlight local crafts and artwork, such as Utamaduni Craft Centre, Kazuri Beads and Pottery, House of Treasures. You may also prefer to visit Bomas of Kenya to gain insight into the local cultures, as well as the Karen Blixen Museum to learn more about the life of the Danish author and coffee farmer who wrote “Out of Africa,” a story that has inspired many to seek out the incredibly beauty of Africa (read more on when is the best time to travel to Nairobi in Kenya).
