WHEN TO GO TO NAIROBI

Best Time & Weather To Travel To Nairobi? Scroll Down For Details..

BEST TIME TO VISIT NAIROBI DURING YOUR CITY TRAVELS IN CENTRAL KENYA

Average temperatures and rainfall play an important role in your travel activities in East Africa, as weather conditions may affect the availability and quality of your safari and tour undertakings. Because Nairobi is at an elevation (altitude of 5450 feet), year-round temperatures tend to be quite mild. From December through March, you will enjoy spring-warm average temperatures between 77-82 F (25-28 C) during the day with lower drop in temperatures of around 55 F (13 C) when the sunsets till it rises.

The cooler-dry months are July through September when the average day temperatures range between 70-77 F (21-25 C) with a lower drop in temperatures of around 52 (11 C) with the setting and rising of the solar ball. Rainfall is another consideration, and Nairobi experiences two rainy seasons. The long rainy season lasts from mid-March to May, sprinkling off by June.

April is a soaking month with an average rainfall of eight inches. The short rainy season starts from late October to through December and November typically has four inches of rain. Average rainfall during the other months is about two inches.

The best time to plan your Nairobi tour activities is during the dry months of July through October and also January and February. July welcomes the lowest rainfall month of the year, just less than one inch of blessed water. The driest and coolest months in Nairobi are July and August. As you prepare for your AfricanMecca safari to Nairobi, you should bring adequate clothing to ensure your comfort in a variety of situations. Layers typically work best, as you can easily add or remove clothing as the conditions change.

You do not, though, want to bring items that may constrict your movement – loose fitting clothes are best. You should also bring a hat and lightweight, waterproof jacket to protect you from avian droplets should it rain during your travels. Since Nairobi is an urban destination with year-round arrivals and business conferences, hotel rooming prices do not generally change or fluctuate based on seasons.
