PANARI HOTEL IN NAIROBI
The Panari Hotel in southern Nairobi provides tourists embarking on an African adventure safari and corporate travelers with comfortable accommodations that are conveniently close to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Besides being ten minutes’ drive from the airport, this transit hotel is conveniently sited within the view of Nairobi National Park. Lucky guests may even catch sight of distant giraffes, zebras and other majestic wildlife from the higher floors. The Panari offers 136 comfortably furnished rooms, as well as various facilities. In addition to the hotel’s Standard Rooms, guests can upgrade to Superior Rooms, Deluxe Suites and the Royal Jade Suite. The base amenities provided in the hotel’s air conditioned Standard Rooms include a flat-screen television, working desk, Wi-Fi internet, mini bar, safety box, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers, appliances for making tea and coffee. The Superior Rooms at Panari are larger, and additionally provide a comfortable lounge space while the Deluxe and Royal Jade Suites both offer superior views of the Nairobi National Park and are suitable lodgings for a more extravagant airport transit trip in Nairobi. Visitors who stay in the premium Royal Jade Suite are provided with the services of a personal butler. In-between seeing the sights of Nairobi while on an urban day excursion in Kenya, guests can make use of Panari’s Dolphin Spa. This combo spa-fitness center consists of a modern gym, inside pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. Tired and stiff AfricanMecca travelers may obtain unassuming massage treatments here. In addition to the Dolphin Spa, the Panari is home to East Africa’s first ice-skating rink. The ice rink offers recreational skating for mainly local families (and for corporate fun days), as well as ice hockey and skating lessons. Guests staying at the Panari Hotel during transit travels in Nairobi have an array of dining options to consider. The Ruby Lounge, on the hotel’s first floor, provides meals and drinks in a traditional setting of polished wooden floors and Victorian-like leather couch. On the ground floor, facing onto Nairobi’s busy Mombasa Road, is the Black Gold Cafe, which serves light meals and desserts along with coffee, tea and smoothies. Diners who prefer a formal luncheon or dinner can eat at the Red Garnet Restaurant, and may choose between buffet and a la carte. Travelers who want to briefly experience Nairobi nightlife during their metropolitan tour of East Africa can visit the hotel’s bar, Shooters & Dips, where locals and fellow travelers converse over exotic cocktails and fine wines. Some of the front rooms at the Panari Hotel which face the road leading to the airport and city have traffic noise while also offering interrupted views over Nairobi National Park, whereas the rooms to the back of the hotel are quieter but views of industrial Nairobi. There are thus pros and cons to each choice – transit guests must thus consider whether to prioritize lower noise levels or more spectacular views from higher floors. Though, views do not matter if you are arriving at night and departing early in the morning (read more on when is the best urban touring time to go to Nairobi)
