Spread over eight levels, the Sarova Stanley offers 217 rooms to guests looking to experience a slice of Kenya’s colonial past on their historic city tour (read more on when the best time is to go to Nairobi). Their rooms are in three categories, all offering an interesting blend of Victorian antiques combined with comforts that cater to the needs of AfricanMecca’s urban guests. The air-conditioned rooms are equipped with black out curtains and soundproofing to ensure complete serenity. Wireless internet services, phones with direct dialing and satellite TVs allow you to stay in contact with the outside world. The sleeping quarters also include arrangements for making tea and coffee and a well-stocked minibar. And you can use the safe locker for custody of important items. En-suite bathrooms have a bath, shower and toilet, and have the necessary sockets that are adapted to using electric 50 Hz cycle shavers. Hair dryers are also provided for your use. Spacious and very comfortable, the 160 Deluxe Rooms are carpeted and have a small sitting area and a workstation. The hotel also has 32 Club Rooms to suit your preference. In addition to the amenities of the Deluxe and Club Rooms, guests in the Suites avail of the separate dressing rooms with roomy wardrobes. The 16 Executive Suites include a distinct sitting room with its own bathroom. The 3 Bedroom Suites are ideal for families offering two bedrooms and a living room. Honeymooners on their romantic abode in Africa might enjoy the ambience of the Lamu State Suite that has been styled in keeping with the theme of the romantic Swahili group of islands, close to the east coast of Kenya. The Karen Blixen State Suite is dedicated to the memory of Lady Blixen who often spent time at the Sarova Stanley at lunch. Photographs and copies of mementos of her life in Kenya adorn the suite. The Stanley Presidential Suite is named in memory of Henry Morton Stanley, a British explorer. The Windsor Penthouse Suite remembers the Prince of Wales who attended a ball here in 1928. While you can order meals in your room at any time in the day and night on your Nairobi adventure trip, do visit the four in-house restaurants of the hotel—the Thai Chi Restaurant, The Thorn Tree Café, The Exchange Bar and the Pool Deck Restaurant.
