NAIROBI SAFARI CLUB IN KENYA
Nairobi Safari Club offers basic, non-frill suite “Lillian Towers” accommodation bordering Nairobi’s Central Business District (view city map) and opposite the University of Nairobi campus. This makes the accommodation agreeable for budget businesspeople visiting the city for meetings and conferences, especially since it is only one mile away from the Kenyatta International Conference Centre. AfricanMecca budget travelers who visit Nairobi during a wildlife tour of Kenya can also spend a night at the hotel en-route to their safari experience, but with minimal expectations of the hotel’s inaccurate claim of a “5 star experience”. The hotel’s 146 rooms are all suites including Executive, Panorama and Presidential, and these at the very minimum contain spacious lounge and bedroom areas, complete with work desks. Each suite is equipped with many of the basic amenities that modest travelers taking a multi-day tour of Nairobi are likely to expect from a large accommodation. The amenities include a satellite TV, a digital personal safe, an ample lounge area with writing desk and seating, separate bathtub and shower, hairdryer and warm beverage makers. Additional facilities offered include a complimentary use of the health center that contains a heated swimming pool along with a sauna and steam bath, adequate gym and a massage parlor. Traveling business people may make use of the convenient facilities at the in-house business center, which provides access to personal computers, as well as printing, photocopying and fax services. Corporate guests may choose between one of several seven conference and consultation rooms for their business events – the largest room available accommodates two hundred people and the smaller one can take on ten individuals. You may choose between both formal and informal dining options at Nairobi Safari Club. The Safari Restaurant offers uncomplicated dining, and guests can enjoy their international fare here while a pianist at times plays calming music in the background. For those who prefer to be in a more informal setting can try the Sundeck Pizzeria & Grill, which is located opposite the hotel’s entrance. Even adventurous safari-goers who travel to East Africa might prefer to dine on familiar food on certain days, and the Sundeck venue offers simple international fare. If you are in the mood for a light snack or a cocktail, you may visit the Safari Terrace Bar. After a week spent experiencing a thrilling but tiring Kenya wildlife safari, you can return to relax in this wood-paneled bar which serves striking tropical cocktails. Although most of the rooms at the Nairobi Safari Club are Executive Suites and have the same amenities, the rooms on higher floors are quieter as less noise from the nearby Nakumatt Supermarket and traffic vehicles infiltrates through the glass windows. Although, the Nairobi Safari Club is not a luxurious or even a deluxe establishment, it is an adequate comfortable option for those on an AfricanMecca urban vacation in Kenya who require an affordable suite accommodation in the heart of Kenya’s capital city, but at the same time willing to accept lower levels of service and related inconsistencies. You pay for what you get, and sometimes less in Africa when informed choices and recommendations are not taken on.
