THE AFRICAN TULIP IN ARUSHA
The African Tulip is a small modest Tanzania accommodation that is located around 60 minutes from the Kilimanjaro International Airport and 20 minutes from the Arusha airport. This three-story hotel offers 20 guest rooms and 9 suites, and only 3 rooms are available on the ground floor for those AfricanMecca guests who cannot use the staircase. The warm tones and patterns used in the rooms reflect the beauty of nature that will be experienced during your African safari, and the furnishings and wildlife artwork are influenced by the native peoples of Tanzania. Your large guest room includes a sitting area with comfortable sofa, chair and writing desk; sleeping area with good quality mattresses, clean linens and plush pillows and a full bathroom. The suites at The African Tulip include all of the amenities of the standard guest rooms but much spacious, as well as mini-bars. Many suites have nice views of the surroundings, and some even have private balconies with chairs. Newlyweds who are looking for a romantic hotel in Arusha, The African Tulip offers a Honeymoon Suite that includes a chilled bottle of sparkling wine, freshly-cut flowers and a platter of delicious fruit (read more on staying in Arusha National Park instead). You have access to all of the modern conveniences during your personalized vacation to Tanzania as all rooms and suites have a wide-screen TV, personal safe, air-conditioning, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, room service and telephones.
Rich red accents set against soft neutral tones invite you to enjoy the palatable meals that are served in The Baobab Restaurant. Fresh, local ingredients are used to prepare dishes with a variety of culinary influences, such as South Indian "Fusions of the East," international, vegetarian and "The African Pot," a traditional Tanzanian preparation. The Baobab Restaurant also offers a small number of dishes that may be ordered throughout the day and served poolside or in the gardens. For afternoon tea, go to the Zanzibar Lounge for a sweet piece of cake, or refresh yourself with a cocktail, glass of wine or spirits. The swimming pool is a delightful place to escape the heat of the African days, and the Serengeti Bar offers select beverages and snacks, as well as wide-screen televisions for news, music or sports. Tours into Arusha and day trips to some of Tanzania's smaller wilderness areas can also be pre-arranged via AfricanMecca prior to arrival to guarantee availability. The growing city offers local markets, interesting cultural programs and museums, and diverse wilderness areas near Arusha include Arusha National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro National Park that can be visited on a single day trip or part of your northern Tanzania safari into Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti Plains, in addition to many other beautiful locations (read more on when is the best time to visit Arusha Park on an East Africa safari). AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
