KIGONGONI LODGE IN ARUSHA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Kigongoni Lodge
Kigongoni Lodge is a lovely, country cottage-like Arusha accommodation that is situated on 70-acres of a working coffee plantation and forest highlands close to Lake Duluti. This hill-top lodge gives you impressive views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and rolling green hills around the suburbs. 19 garden cottages including one family cottage are nestled within the forest and feature authentic African design and decor, and each cottage provides you with approximately 645 square feet of space. Cottages have private verandahs with views of either mountains, writing desk, fireplace and full bathroom with a shower and bathtub. As a family-friendly hotel in Tanzania, Kigongoni Lodge also offers a family-size room with two separate bedrooms. All beds have canopies of mosquito net, and you may choose from twin beds or double beds. The rooms are clean and unobtrusive, and the spacing between the cottages is adequate for privacy. The locations of some of the cottages require you to traverse a large number of steps, which may not be recommended for AfricanMecca guests with physical limitations. Guest services at the lodge include room service, laundry, fresh and hot tea and coffee in the early morning served in your verandah and free wireless internet.
The sparkling blue swimming pool is an inviting contrast to the lush, green forest. Lounge chairs and umbrellas help you relax and embrace the tranquility of Kigongoni Lodge. The sinking sun brings a spectacular show to the African skies, and the experience is best when you have a refreshing glass of wine, cocktail or cognac. On chilly nights, relax around the fireplace in the lounge as the kitchen prepares your dinner. The atmosphere in the lodge restaurant is calming, with ecru walls, wood accents and soft lighting. European dishes are enhanced with authentic African influences and locally-grown produce to give you a palatable meal. Breakfast and dinner are served at your table or you may enjoy a gentle breeze while dining outdoors. Before your African safari, you may partake of the many activities that are accessible from the lodge such as nature walks on the property, guided village walks and mountain biking. An Arusha city tour is a unique experience, giving you insight into the city's history, local cultures and community-based projects. One such project is the Sibusiso Foundation near the lodge that works with mentally challenged children and their families to ensure that these young Tanzanians have bright, happy futures. For your activity-packed Tanzania vacation, your AfricanMecca tour planner can pre-arrange these activities, as well as day trips to visit Arusha National Park and the wilderness areas of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park before heading off to Serengeti Plains, Ngorongoro Crater, Ruaha National Park and many other pristine wilderness areas in Tanzania.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
