ARUMERU RIVER LODGE IN ARUSHA
The Arumeru River Lodge offers a relaxing and peaceful setting that complements any trip to Arusha. The common areas and guest accommodations are designed with an attention to detail that makes everyone feel a part of the incredible gardens just outside the door. The gentle breeze carries the delicate fragrance of Angle's Trumpet trees that grow next to tropical trees, manicured shrubs and flowering plants. Bird lovers will especially appreciate the gardens that attract many avi-fauna, such as hornbill, ibis, guinea fowl, sunbirds and many others. A vacation to Tanzania isn't complete without observing wildlife, and you will have a little taste of mini-safari from private verandas as resident dik diks wander through the lodge grounds and kingfishers fly low over the fishpond. Arumeru River Lodge is an excellent place to prepare for safari and explore some of Tanzania's flora. Lodgers have access to the on-site laundry facility, and Arusha outings can be arranged via your AfricanMecca representative in Arusha. The lodge hosts many special activities, such as cocktail parties, cook-outs and Maasai dancing, and the lodge can also accommodate weddings, family events and newlyweds. Arumeru River Lodge is conveniently located midway between Kilimanjaro Airport and Arusha with 35 minutes driving proximity to downtown for those who are interested in tours of Arusha and 20 minutes to Arusha National Park. Whatever an AfricanMecca guest may need during their stay, the friendly and professional staff is always available to help.
Arumeru River Lodge is the perfect place to spend one or two nights before the start of your Northern Tanzania wildlife safari to Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Manyara and Tarangire. The lodge features 20 adjoining guest chalet rooms, 6 junior suites and 1 Meru family cottage. Inside each chalet is a sleeping area with a large comfortable bed with mosquito netting, a small table with chairs and a full bathroom with shower and double vanity sinks. Outside is a private partitioned terrace with chairs and a table to view the surrounding gardens. The junior suites at this cozy Tanzania accommodation are 215 square feet larger than the chalets and have two private verandas. In-room Wi-Fi is available in the chalets for an additional charge and is free-of-charge for the junior suites and family cottage. The Migrations Restaurant and Terrace Restaurant at this palatable Arusha accommodation are known for the enjoyable African and international cuisine that is prepared by the chefs who hail from Zanzibar. The vegetables and salads are made with organically raised produce from the lodge gardens. Hot and cold dishes are available on the menu and buffets, as well as vegetarian options, such as the hot vegetable bean soup, a favorite among AfricanMecca guests. Filtered spring water is available, as well as a selection of wines. Meals are served in the dining area or on the outdoor shaded terrace. At the center of the gardens is the solar heated swimming pool, complete with lounging chairs and thatch umbrellas.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
