LONNO LODGE IN WATAMU
Lonno Lodge is one boutique accommodation that takes eco-friendly values to a whole new level. The entire lodge is constructed using Lamu architecture styles with naturally occurring materials. It lets in sea breezes and lots of natural light and thus believes that it has eliminated the need for air-conditioners and artificial lighting though the absence of air-conditioners in a very small deluxe accommodation (8 rooms) such as Lonno in hot, humid coastal conditions is more of a cost saving drive as there is enough solar energy available to run efficient solar panels to power up some comfort of artificial cool air-conditioning. Having said that, there is plenty of breeze from the ocean and your in-room ceiling fan. The greenery around the resort also contributes to the cool environs and the magnificent views of the Indian Ocean create a relaxed atmosphere during your AfricanMecca beach vacation in Kenya. Lonno is a very small deluxe accommodation, and you can expect quality amenities, delicious food and highly personalized service. Set apart from the main village of Watamu, on the northern coastal edge of Watamu Marine Park, the hotel focuses on tranquility and privacy. Wi-Fi services are available for your use, and the salt-water swimming pool presents an opportunity for a restorative dip. For your seashore trip in Watamu, you can choose from four rooms and four suites, all decorated with Swahili carvings and other entities d’art. The rooms all have little kitchens equipped with fridges, bars and tea and coffee making arrangements complete with utensils and a sink. The rooms also have a safe large enough to stow a laptop and a TV with satellite connection. The wall sockets are adapted for use with all kinds of socket pins. The attached bathrooms include hair dryers. The Executive Room faces the ocean and is located on the second floor. It can accommodate two people and comes with its own balcony. The ocean-facing Deluxe Rooms are spread over the ground and first floors of the resort. These rooms are spacious enough for a baby's crib. Guests staying in Top Tower Room have access to the top terrace of the hotel with an ocean view. This room is sited on the third floor. Two people can sleep here comfortably. The Junior Suite can accommodate up to three guests and a baby crib, and is spread over two floors having a bedroom on the first floor with a sitting room on the ground floor. It has an exclusive patio facing the garden and a terrace that faces the sea. The Suite is similar to the Junior Suite but is ideal for four people and can also accommodate a baby crib. The Two Bedroom Suite is a distinct unit by itself and has two bedrooms. Two to five boarders on their Indian Ocean coastal travels can comfortably stay with enough space for a baby cot. Have you meals in the in-house restaurant that is exclusive for the hotel guests. All intercontinental and local cuisine is prepared using only the freshest of ingredients sourced from nearby farms and gardens and from the ocean. Place your order for the dishes of your choice and they will be cooked to your taste. Alcoholic and soft drinks are chargeable. Spend days on your beach holiday in East Africa strolling or sunbathing on the beach. Wade in the sea at low tide and view the sea creatures trapped in the pools. You could also take a relaxing massage or book a diving or snorkeling expedition. Enjoy kite surfing or tour other sites around Watamu such as the Gede Ruins, Arabuko Reserve, Bio-Ken Snake Farm, Mida Creek and many more. Combine your beach visit to Watamu with an AfricanMecca wildlife safari to Tsavo East Park while staying at Satao Camp or fly to Masai Mara Reserve to experience the migration and big game viewing. Stay at the Lonno Lodge and have a fabulous seaside voyage in Kenya.
