GUIDE ON KILIMA CAMP IN KENYA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Kilima Camp
Located in the Mara Triangle wilderness bordering Masai Mara National Reserve is the site of Kilima Camp, perched atop the Siria - Oloololo escarpment with plains views of the Mara River. The ever-changing landscape with its many colors and moods spreads before you as far as the eye can see and you could watch as the spectacular phenomenon of over a million and a half wildebeests along with gazelles and zebras thunder across the plains during the Great Migration season. Kilima Camp is a mid-range accommodation with a sprawling lounge cum bar where guests’ safari holidaying in this expanse of East Africa can spend time relaxing and enjoying its ethnic charm environs. You can also use the charging station here to charge your electronics or browse in the souvenir shop for mementos of your dream tour in Kenya in support of the local artisans. Kilima offers 15 tented rooms in two specifications for your stay. The twelve Classic Safari Tents are erected on elevated wooden decks and are just enough to accommodate three guests. Every room has a king size double bed while the en-suite bathroom includes hot water for your showers, modest toiletries, solo basin and a canvas shower stall. Families with older children traveling to Masai Mara with AfricanMecca can opt for two of these tents as they are near each other on a single pathway, and can be used by parents who prefer their kids to sleep separately but within a stone-throw away. The patios outside are perfect for an afternoon of leisure watching the plains of Masai Mara in comfortable safari chairs. The camp also offers three large Deluxe Tents that can host three adults and two children. And if you need a crib or baby bed, please put in your request. Kilima has two dining areas where they serve off the menu meals to their guests. One of them has an interior fireplace for a warm ambience to complement your outdoor after dinner drinks, and if you are vacationing in Africa as part of a small group, the camp can set up private bush meals for you around the campgrounds. The camp serves a selection of international and traditional Kenyan dishes. The latter are cooked on open wood fires on site and served to you with an accompaniment of vegetable sides and breads. Revel in the star-blanketed serenity of the African wilderness broken only by the sound of crickets, hooting own and perhaps a distant lion roaring as you have your meals. The stunning landscape of Masai Mara Game Reserve with its incredible denizens awaits your expeditions in the bush. Your experienced AfricanMecca guide accompanying you is adept at reading tracks and understanding the behavior of animals. He will make sure you maximize your wildlife viewing experiences by sharing his vast knowledge as you cruise along in custom-built safari vehicles. Also discover the flora of Masai Mara and its healing properties, and the wondrous avian fauna, many of which nest in the shrub or trees, cleverly hidden away from raptors. The competent naturalist directing your bush walks will make all this possible. Make your safari trip in Kenya a culturally enriching experience by visiting a local Maasai village or go on a balloon safari for an aerial overview of the wild ecology. Return to the camp at the end of an exciting day of discovery for a pampering session at the Kilima spa to soothe your safari-sore muscles.
