BEACH WEDDINGS IN TANZANIA

Are You Planning To A Tanzania Beach Wedding Trip? Scroll Down...

Getting married and sharing your life with your loved one is a wonderful step to take as part of your rite of passage, and as you embark on this positive overwhelming journey of your life, you will want that it should have the perfect beginning. You are probably looking for a supremely gorgeous location with perhaps, a unique theme, the company of your near and dear ones to witness your union where every other detail is carefully worked out.

With a glorious natural beauty that presents the perfect setting for a seaside wedding, Tanzania should be your first choice. And you don't need to concern yourself with the stress of planning nuptial arrangements in distant and foreign lands because, at AfricanMecca Safaris, we take care of every last nuance for you.

Tanzania's coast is known for the breathtakingly stunning beaches with powdery white sands, the azure panorama of the Indian Ocean before you and the lush backdrop of the tropical palms, baobab and other vegetation inhabited with paradisiacal birds and other smaller fauna. You can choose a wedding venue at any of the distinct dream-come-true locations such as the archipelago of islands including Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia and even Dar es Salaam where distinct seashore resorts, hotels and lodges cater to nuptial on their beachfronts.

You could be looking for a small, intimate ceremony in a remote location with just the two of you, or you could want the presence of all of your family and friends for your beach wedding in Tanzania. We will make the necessary engagements complete with the ideal stayover, cuisine, and activities, so your guests enjoy every moment of your wedding.

We will put together the perfect bespoke itinerary, so the bride and the groom have all the time to relax and prepare for the greatest moments of their life. You will have the time to soak up the sun in cozy, romantic corners of secluded beaches and perhaps, indulge in his and hers spa sessions that will help you look renewed on your special day. Also, enjoy the scrumptious cuisine and chilled cocktails with the stars forming a twinkling canopy overhead, perfect preludes to an even more idyllic ceremony.

AfricanMecca will assign a personal wedding planner who will guide you and understand all your needs for a dream espousal in Tanzania. And bring them to life. The theme, wedding costumes and hairstyling, flowers and bridal bouquet, music and dancing, wedding cake and champagne, decorations for the venue, reception, arrangements for the pictures and videos, and more importantly, the legal requirements to certify your nuptial.

Every little atom of your request will be planned to perfection just as you have always imagined it will be. We will also propose the most romantic conclusion to the lifetime of memories we create for you – an extended beach honeymoon or safari honeymoon! At AfricanMecca Safaris, we understand how important these few months are for you and we make every endeavor to make sure it is nothing less than impeccable.

Choose the hand-in-hand activities you want to experience with your novel spouse or opt to spend quiet, blissful moments in complete seclusion. We will have it all in place for the newly-weds. And trust us to take care of your guests after we have whisked you away for your love-bonding time together. We will ensure that they are entertained, and all logistics are dealt with so they leave with delightful union memories of your African beach wedding.

Legal Requirements For A Beach Wedding In Tanzania

AfricanMecca recognizes how vital it is to have all the legal requirements in order to conclude your Tanzania seaside wedding, and we assure you that we have it all organized. The wedding events we plan for you are private and special. You need not be concerned about being overwhelmed by the crowd of other wedding parties at your beach lodging. Your wedding will be the only one on that day.

There will only be an exclusive beachfront venue with an unshared entrance, rustling green palm trees forming a canopy and soft music accompanied by the choral of brilliantly-colored birds. Maasai warriors humming auspicious songs walk the bride to the dais and hand her over to the proudly, beaming groom as the official registrar waits to perform the ceremony. While we make sure that all paperwork and legalities are taken care of, we will need you to make available to us all the necessary documents at least 6 weeks before your arrival. You can fax them or send in scanned documents, and have the originals ready for display when you arrive for your wedding in Tanzania.

We need:

  • Complete names and addresses.
  • Occupation details and religion, belief or faith followed.
  • Copies of valid passports with the necessary notarization.
  • Copies of birth certificates with the necessary notarization.
  • In case, one or both of the partners have been divorced, a certified copy of original proof of decree absolute.
  • In case of a name change by deed poll, a certified copy of original proof.
  • In case, any of the partners are below 18 years of age, proof of consent of parents or guardians is required in the form of an affidavit by a notary public.
  • Two passport-sized photographs.
  • Copies of a Certificate of Domicile with notarization.
  • Certificate of No Impediment--This certificate must be in English and notarized by a notary public. It acts as proof that you are not already married. If you were divorced or widowed, the necessary divorce or death certificate must also be submitted.

Other rules and regulations you must follow are:

  • According to Tanzanian law, on your behalf, we must get in touch with the Office of the District Commissioner and inform them of your impending wedding along with the necessary fees and documentation. A waiting period of 21 days is mandatory within which any third persons can present their objections to the marriage.
  • If you do not want to await the 21-day period, you can apply for the Special Marriage License from the local Registrar of Marriages. To get this license, we will need to submit a completed application form along with the necessary fee.
  • You will need to have two witnesses present that may or may not be residents of Tanzania. We can provide this if needed.
  • We recommend you get an International Certificate of Marriage. You can obtain this document from the Registrar of Marriages by submitting the necessary application form and fee. We can arrange this for you after your wedding. If required by your home country or for immigration regulations, you can get it endorsed at the Tanzanian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
If you would want to have your wedding in Zanzibar, you need to conform to Zanzibari rules and regulations. Along with the documents specified above, you will also need to submit an added Certificate of Domicile. This is a notarized affidavit by which you swear that you are a resident of the address that you have specified. You also need to sign this paper.

Zanzibari law does not issue special marriage licenses, so you have to put up with the necessary notice on the Municipal Notice Board and wait out the 21-day time frame. The International Certificate of Marriage that you procure must be certified by way of the same procedure as above.

At AfricanMecca Safaris, we recommend that you let us know well in advance of the preferred date for your nuptial ceremony so we can make the arrangements for you. We would also suggest that you avoid the dates from December 24th to January 4th or over Easter and other public holidays. These times are among the busiest for beach vacation and very few hotels host weddings at this time. It is also the time when many government officials are off duty, and it may be challenging to organize an official to preside over your nuptials on a national public holiday day.
