WHERE TO STAY IN UDZUNGWA PARK
The tented rooms are built from local, renewable materials, such as bamboo and coconut wood, and feature comfortable beds, full bathrooms with open air showers and solar power and lighting. The bandas are mainly used by backpacker travelers in Africa. To keep your appetite satisfied, the camp has a bar and restaurant, as well as a self-service cooking area. The meals are not only tasteful, but also a surprising combination of dishes, such as tempura vegetables, chocolate cocoa mousse, potato croquettes, pepper steak and many other mouth-watering choices! You may request a packed lunch for your activities. In the evenings, settle near the campfire with your favorite cocktail and watch the sunset while listening to the soft, soothing sounds of the forest.
For your East African distinct tours, the camp hosts many activities to help you learn about the ecosystem and cultures, such as traditional “Ngoma” drumming demonstrations, birding walks, nighttime insect watching and much more. The camp property is a stunning location to explore, but the Udzungwa park offers endless opportunities to experience some of Tanzania’s most unique flora and fauna. With so much stunning forest around you, hiking is the best way to get up close and personal with nature. Half-day, full-day and multi-day trails are offered via AfricanMecca, and you may choose from several sites, such as waterfalls, overlooks, rivers, local farms and plantations, villages and much more. If you seek adventure during your stay, special camping excursions may be arranged, such as an overnight Sanje hike, four to six days hike along the Lumeno Trail or a walk deep into the rainforest where you sleep under the tree canopy. The best part is that the camp offers rental equipment, such as tents, bedding, foam mattresses, sheets, pillows, cooking kits and even a cook!

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.

We had an absolutely unforgettable time. Both our guides were outstanding with so much knowledge. At Selous Game Reserve, we found a group of wild dogs cooling off near a pool of water. The safari was everything we had hoped for.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.

EAST AFRICA SAFARI BOOKING TRIP IDEA FOR UDZUNGWA IN SOUTHERN TANZANIA
When visiting Udzungwa Mountains National Park, we recommend combining it with offbeat parks in Southern and Western Tanzania such as Nyerere (Selous), Ruaha or Katavi ending with a chimpanzee trekking safari at Gombe or Mahale.
You may optionally extend out to Northern Tanzania safari parks such as Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti (wildebeest migration). End your trip with a Swahili cultural tour and beach holiday in Zanzibar.
