BEST TIME TO VISIT UDZUNGWA FOR A SOUTHERN TANZANIA SAFARI
Like other locations in Tanzania, Udzungwa Mountains Park has a rainy season and dry seasons. Most of the long rainfall occurs from March to May and the precipitation can make the roads and trails quite slippery. During the rainy season is also when you may see some of the many delightful butterflies that thrive within the park. Because of the effects of heavy rainfall on the woodland and highlands terrain, your activities may be impacted, though, it is recommended to plan any AfricanMecca wilderness vacation to Tanzania’s National Park during the dry season, which runs from the cooler June to the warmer October, and we consider this time of year to be the best. When you pack for your nature holidays in Africa, be sure to bring a variety of clothing to ensure your comfort during the day and in the evenings. You should bring a light jacket or sweater, comfortable shoes and hiking boots and rain gear, especially if you will be visiting during the rainy season. Also bring a hat to protect your eyes and face from the sun, as well as sunscreen, and don’t forget your swimming suit should you choose to swim in a lovely natural plunge pool of refreshing water underneath the Sanje waterfalls.

We had an absolutely unforgettable time. Both our guides were outstanding with so much knowledge. At Selous Game Reserve, we found a group of wild dogs cooling off near a pool of water. The safari was everything we had hoped for.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.

EAST AFRICA SAFARI TRIP IDEA FOR UDZUNGWA IN SOUTHERN TANZANIA
When visiting Udzungwa Mountains National Park, we recommend combining it with offbeat parks in Southern and Western Tanzania such as Selous, Ruaha or Katavi ending with a chimpanzee trekking safari at Gombe or Mahale.
You may optionally extend out to Northern Tanzania safari parks such as Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti (wildebeest migration). End your trip with a Swahili cultural tour and beach holiday in Zanzibar.
