GUIDE ON VOI WILDLIFE LODGE IN KENYA
A sprawling 25-acre “safari resort” property located just outside the western boundary of Tsavo East National Park (view map), in the midst of open savannah grasslands, is the Voi Wildlife Lodge. The watering hole around which the lodge is built sees many wildlife visitors in the form of birds, buffaloes, elephants, impalas, zebras, gazelles, elands and many more. Guests’ safari holidaying in Kenya can spend time in the lookout walkway that stands close to the watering hole and watch the animals come to drink. The walkway deck also houses the Safari Sundowner Bar where you can watch the evening twilight over Tsavo with cool drinks in hand. An economy establishment, Voi Wildlife Lodge is fashioned as a “safari resort” to accommodate a mass of guests rather than a discerning few. Its high thatched roofs are designed to keep the interiors cool, covering the individual structures that house the lounge, bar and restaurant. They also have various shaded areas that overlook the watering hole with the Mwakingali, Sagalla and Kasigau Hills forming a volcanic highland backdrop. The lodge offers 88 rooms in separate wings like Acacia and Baobab that can accommodate up to a massive 300 guests traveling to Tsavo East. These rooms are housed in three-level block buildings offering fine views of the watering hole and are available in specifications of Standard, Superior and Luxury. Adorned with a subtle heterogeneous African decor, the Luxury Rooms have two queen-size four-poster beds each with mosquito netting and a verandah outside furnished with light safari chairs. The Superior Rooms can take in five guests and has a single bed, twin queen-size beds augmented with white tiled floors and wooden furniture finish. Sliding doors lead out to the Juliet’s wooden balcony outside. Physically challenged AfricanMecca guests can request for rooms close to the reception that are specially furnished for their comfort. Rooms at the upper level always have the best views. You could also opt for the faux safari camping experience on your Tsavo trip in East Africa and choose from the basic tented rooms the lodge offers. Made of canvas with netted windows, the tents have zip-up entrances with double or twin beds; mosquito netting, stand fan and an attached bathroom in the back. Have your meals in the Tembo Restaurant that serves guests touring Kenya a choice of adequate buffet cuisine including vegetarian options. Also offering views of the watering hole, the restaurant can seat 350 diners at a time and welcomes outside guests just visiting for lunch. The lodge also arranges for breakfast in the bush and packed lunches for guests wishing to stay out longer on their game drives. Dinner times combine modest meals with cultural dance and ethnic melody displays. Close to the dining area are the table tennis and billiards tables for guests while the next-door Mandhari Bar is a satisfactory place to hang out while sipping drinks. Voi Wildlife Lodge has a range of facilities on site such as a volleyball court and two badminton courts. They also have a play yard for kids and two swimming pools, one of which looks across the watering hole. You could also visit the Safari Spa for steam baths, saunas, massages, aromatherapy and so much more. The lodge also features a fitness center and a Discovery Area with a collection of information avenues from where you can begin your exploration of Tsavo. Go on game drives in a custom-equipped safari vehicle in the company of an informed experienced guide or on bush walks accompanied by a naturalist. Your AfricanMecca bush vacation in Tsavo East Park will be made truly memorable by the amazing wildlife and stunning diversity of 500 species of birds you could see (read more on when is the best time to travel to Tsavo East).

Jambo Altaf, The service was first class and accommodation was out of this world, the staff at Tsavo could not do enough and if you required anything all you had to do was ask. Thank you for a most memorable experience.
Peter & Tracey Hutton - Prescot, United Kingdom
