GUIDE ON ASHNIL SAMBURU CAMP IN KENYA
Located in Buffalo Springs National Reserve, part of the Samburu ecology, Ashnil Samburu Camp avails a mid-range accommodation for your AfricanMecca bush safari in the wilds of Kenya, should you prefer a balance between quality and price. Positioned on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the camp offers you a strategic location to serve as a base for exploring many natural treasures during your wilderness trip in East Africa. The 30 hexagon tents with a private deck offer practically 360-degree views of the bush and river where animals come to drink and graze. Choose from eighteen doubles, nine twin beds or three with triple beds based on your group or family size. Inside it, you will find a small siting area and dressing table with chairs, side tables, luggage rack, shoulder-height wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with a nice shower cubicle guarded by a frosted glass door. We recommend that you consider the location of your tent on the property. While there is a stone path that leads to the common area, some guest tents require a longer walk. As such, you may prefer a tent closer to the main areas should you be planning a family holiday at Samburu National Reserve or if you have limited mobility. If having up-close-and-personal wildlife viewing from your tent is important, we recommend a guest tent closest to the river. The rooms at Ashnil Samburu are well-maintained and very clean, but be vary of the monkeys that hang around the tents. Monkeys are known to take items from the deck and climb on the roof of the tent for play.
Coffee and tea are brought to your tent each day as part of your wake up call. After freshening up, you have a few minutes to relax on your veranda before joining your guide for a morning game drive. Climb aboard a specially-designed 4x4 safari vehicle, and set off for what promises to be an exciting and adventurous park tour of Samburu. The experience and knowledge of your AfricanMecca guide is apparent as he skillfully locates the wildlife and shares intimate knowledge of the flora-fauna environment, peoples and history of the wilderness. Return to camp for a buffet breakfast before lounging by the pool or relaxing in the lounge. After lunch, take a nap, write in your journal or share stories with other vacationing guests. A bit of afternoon tea enhances your energy for an afternoon activity. Expand your thrilling wild travels in northern Kenya with an afternoon spent walking through the bush with a guide, visiting a local village or observing animal behaviors during a game drive. The ecosystem of Samburu and Buffalo Springs is of critical importance both locally and globally. You can learn more about the flora, fauna, cultures and much more by attending one of the camp’s wildlife conservation and cultural discourses by the local Samburu guides.
