GUIDE ON ELEWANA KIFARU HOUSE IN KENYA
Sited on the top of a hill, amidst the pristine, stunning expanse of the Lewa Conservancy in northern Kenya is the Elewana Kifaru House. Built using naturally occurring materials with high, thatched ceilings, this premier accommodation offers discerning guests traveling in Africa, the comfort of a home away from home. Feel free to spend time relaxing in the tranquil, bush environs of the lodge beside an infinity pool or explore the famed Lewa Conservancy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its many fascinating inhabitants including the Big Five of Africa and more than 440 species of bird life. The main lounge of the lodge is a warm, inviting place with a fireplace and is equipped with a wide, flat screen TV and a Blu-ray DVD player. AfricanMecca guests can choose from their range of books or check emails using their tablet or phones. Wi-Fi services are operational in the entire lodge. Elewana Kifaru House partly adopts eco-friendly measures in their running, solar panels generate the electricity needed and the water is diverted to irrigation after use. Elewana Kifaru House has 6, distinct chalets for up to twelve guests on a distinct Lewa safari trip in Laikipia. Each spacious chalet banda, sited in green manicured lawns, is roundish in shape and has varied windows to offer you a 180-degree view of the sheer beauty of Laikipia around you. Four-poster beds with mosquito netting, a little seating arrangement and roll-up blinds combined with hardwood floors add the charm of the room. A writing desk and direct dialing phone are placed in the cottage for your use along with a cupboard with ample storage space, minibar and CD player. The attached bathrooms include a sunken shower with solar-powered hot water, double basins and the amenities you might expect from a luxury accommodation. Elewana Kifaru House has its own organic garden where they grow the fruits and vegetables for your appetizing meals. Their chef creates wholesome, delectable cuisine keeping your special requests in mind. Have your meals in their open air dining area that is shaded with a thatch roof and watch as the sun plays on the landscape that is a fascinating green of the lawn contrasting with the tawny grasses and golden earth of the Laikipia wilderness. The lodge also offers you the exciting option of having an authentic bush breakfast while touring Kenya. Kifaru takes its name from the Swahili term for Rhino and rightly so because Lewa in Laikipia has earned the merit of being one of the few reserves in Africa where the rhino population is thriving thanks to efforts that are directed at their safety and welfare. You will be awakened at dawn for your morning game drive and after a cup of tea or coffee, you can leave in special safari vehicles in the company of your expert guide. There is another game drive organized in the cooler hours of the afternoon. Your guide is well-versed in animal behavior and can point out to you wild dogs hidden in the tall grasses of the savannah. Also spot regal reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, buffaloes and predators like cheetahs and leopards aside from the kings of the animal world, the lions. Herds of elephants wander in the grasses congregating at the watering holes to drink. Take a closer look at the flora of Laikipia and gather in-depth information of their many health-giving properties, by going on bush walks with an experienced naturalist for a guide. Visit the local community for a glimpse into their cultural lives or go for a horseback or camelback safari. Choose the Elewana Kifaru House for your authentic wildlife vacation in East Africa and AfricanMecca Safaris to plan your dream holiday of a lifetime.
