GUIDE ON PORINI AMBOSELI CAMP IN KENYA
Amboseli is a fine location for an authentic safari vacation in Kenya where you will have the opportunity to view the awesome wildlife and learn about the rich culture of the Maasai. Located amongst it is Porini Amboseli Camp, a mid-level accommodation sited in the Selenkay Conservancy that serves as a secondary preservation area outside the Amboseli National Park. The camp caters to a small number of guests at a time that co-exists with warm service and delectable meals. Most guests fly into the camp and game drives are shared with other diverse campers, but you can request for an exclusive safari vehicle at a supplementary cost. Arrive at the Porini Amboseli Camp on your personalized safari trip in Amboseli with AfricanMecca, and you will be welcomed with cool drinks and refreshing towels. It has 9 spacious tented rooms offering a rustic bush feel with double beds, side tables with lamps, storage cupboard, writing desk and ethnic décor rugs. Most of the tents have a double bed with an extra single bed for a child or third adult. The attached bathroom has a shower stall, flush toilet and washbasin. The staff provides hot water for bucket showers while the solar panels generate electricity for the camp. The Porini Amboseli serves your meals in a separate mess tent or out in the open on most fine weather days. Your meals and drinks e.g. mineral water, soft drinks, local beer, house wine and gin and tonics are all included. Awake each morning on your African dream safari to the smiling face of a Maasai warrior who brings your coffee/tea, biscuits and some hot water to freshen up. You can leave for your morning game drive in custom 4x4 vehicles with open sides for all around game viewing. Maasai guides who are experts in animal behavior will point out faunas ingeniously camouflaged in the greenery. They are adept at tracking animals by identifying tracks, droppings and other signs and will take you to see them in action. Look out for elephants ambling through the swampy papyrus grasses with Mount Kilimanjaro as your backdrop or spot a leopard lazily keeping watch on its domain hidden in the branches of an acacia. You can see grazing animals like wildebeest, gerenuk, zebra, eland, gazelle, buffalo and many more. Your guide will demonstrate how to scan the surrounding grasslands for cheetahs, lion pride or hyenas lurking around the herds looking for their next meal. The Amboseli National Park has more than 425 varieties of bird life such as kestrels, starlings, falcons and harrier eagles to name a few. After breakfast, back at the camp, you can go on a nature walk in the conservancy. The Maasai guides at Amboseli Porini adore children on family safaris and yield distinctive efforts to educate them about the animals and birds they see. Lunch is again served at the camp. Later you can take a siesta or read a little until it is time for your afternoon tea and game drive. Take this opportunity while traveling in Kenya to visit the nearby Maasai village for a peek into their fascinating way of life. The Porini Amboseli Camp also offers AfricanMecca guests’ night game drives in the Selenkay Conservancy where you will be able to see nocturnal like aardvarks, caracals, African wild cats and bat-eared foxes among others. You will cherish every one of the memorable moments you spend in Amboseli on your adventurous tour holiday in East Africa (read more on when is the best time to visit Amboseli).
