Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Kicheche Laikipia Camp

Visit the home of Kenya’s largest population of black rhino during your East African safari at the mid-range Kicheche Laikipia Camp. The 90,000-acre, privately-owned Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to many of Africa’s most sought-after plains and forest animals, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elands, bushbucks and other grazers and foragers.

Hidden within the tall grasses and woodlands are lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs and other stealthy predators. Watch these magnificent creatures come to the watering hole from the comfort of your private verandah! To ensure a comfortable Laikipia wilderness holiday, Kicheche Laikipia offers 6 tents to accommodate a maximum of 12 guests.

You feel as though you are in your own secluded part of Kenya with nothing but pristine bush surrounding you. Each guest tent features full en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, hot and cold running water and shower, as well as insect proof netting and solar lighting. The rich jewel tones of the décor splendidly accent the neutral color palette to immerse you in a soothing environment.

You and your children will be relaxed in the family tent which is conveniently located near the main dining area and lounge. For couples who seek a romantic travel getaway in Africa, we recommend a tent that is furthest away from the common areas. AfricanMecca guests with limited mobility, though, may prefer tents near the common areas.

You will appreciate the friendly and warm nature of the staff as they genuinely strive to give you an unforgettable vacation in southern Laikipia. From the time they bring you biscuits served with tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the morning to the excellent guiding skills during the game drives and other activities, you always feel welcome.

At sunrise, enjoy a long and awe-inspiring game drive, and you may see Grevy’s zebras, African wild dogs, Jackson’s hartebeests, beisa oryx and other rare northern species that roam Ol Pejeta. Enjoy a picnic breakfast amongst the wildlife or return to the camp for a full morning meal with other guests.

Before lunch, you may have time to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, northern white rhino enclosure or Wildlife Educational Centre. After lunch, slumber peacefully, read your favorite book or watch the animals at the watering lake hole. Guests also have the opportunity to visit the local Nanyuki Children's home to meet the orphan children who will certainly touch your heart.

Experience the nocturnal behavior of African wildlife with an evening game drive complemented with sundowners in the bush before an exceptional dinner and engaging conversations with other guests in the lounge.

Other Kicheche Laikipia activities for your activity-enriched tour of Kenya’s Ol Pejeta that can be arranged by your AfricanMecca Safaris representative include nature walks, canoeing trips, lion tracking with research guides and mountain biking safaris (read more on the best time to visit Laikipia in Kenya).
