GUIDE ON MARA BUSHTOPS IN KENYA
Mara Bushtops is an opulent accommodation that is situated in the Siana Conservancy on the eastern expanse of Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp exceeds your every expectation for a premier African safari experience. Although the pristine setting, luxurious guest tents and divine meals capture your mind and spirit, the people of Mara Bushtops stay in a special part of your heart. The staff and owners are committed to giving every guest a private and intimate Kenya bush experience, so guests are asked to unplug completely from the outside world by turning off their cell phones upon arrival. Practices such as this enhance the peaceful environment that allows you to immerse yourself in the ecological and cultural treasures of your boutique bush holiday in Kenya with AfricanMecca. To further your sense of seclusion, the camp offers only 12 luxury tents, each of which celebrates one of the many magnificent savannah animals, and every tent has private butler service. The tents open on three sides, so you have unfettered views of the conservancy. The private 100-square meter wooden deck encircles your tent, inviting you to step outside to relax with breathtaking views over a cocktail or cup of coffee. A private hot tub, safari chairs and day loungers complete the oasis amidst the wilderness. Inside, a unique African style, neutral tones and natural wood accents sooth your soul. The spacious ensuite bathroom offers a spa-like setting with indoor/outdoor shower with pressurized hot and cold water, flush toilet, vanity with wash basins and other special touches. Mara Bushtops also has a family suite that features two en-suite double bedrooms connected by a shared lounging area with mini bar, wine wall and an outdoor fireplace. The same suite can also be used by honeymooners or celebratory romantics who prefer ultra-capacious rooming. Your active-adventure vacation in south-western Kenya includes a range of safari activities, some of which are restricted inside the reserve. Your personal butler gently awakens you against a backdrop of the soft light of an African sunrise. The aroma of freshly-brewed coffee and tea fills the air and entices you to rise and dress for an adventure-filled tour of Masai Mara Game Reserve. Should you prefer a more exclusive safari activity where you see no masses of safari vehicles, you can take a morning game drive in the private conservancy. Your guide takes you to the premium vantage points for viewing elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and many other grazing herbivores. Lions, leopards and other carnivores lounge on distant outcrops after a night’s hunt. Hyenas, vultures and other scavengers tear the remaining flesh and break bones from a recent kill. From July to October, the plains of Masai Mara Reserve are filled with animals involved in the never-ending Great Serengeti-Mara Migration – over one million wildebeests and tens of thousands of zebras. Seeing vast herds of wildlife in the reserve is one of the greatest moments of your bush travel in East Africa! You may return Mara Bushtops for a delectable breakfast or treat yourself to a champagne bush breakfast among the fauna. After breakfast, relax on the common deck around the main building for more passive wildlife observation at the salt lick. You may also spend some time learning about the many community projects that are supported by the camp. A superb ala-carte lunch satisfies your appetite, especially when it is followed by a rejuvenating nap in your tent, soak in the hot tub or engaging conversation with other guests. Tea and divine goodies refresh your energy, just in time for your afternoon game drive, village visit and other late-day activities. Return to camp for sundowners and an elegant dinner before a night game drive in the conservancy. AfricanMecca Safaris can also arrange a walking safari with bush breakfast, hot air balloon safari, tour of a local children’s school, full-day game drive with picnic lunch and much more for your stay at Mara Bushtops.
