GUIDE ON LELESHWA CAMP IN KENYA
Update: Leleshwa Camp no longer has a permanent base in Masai Mara. It only now operates as a private mobile luxury camp in most parks and reserves of Kenya i.e. Masai Mara, Laikipia, Samburu, Shaba, Meru, Nakuru, Amboseli, Tsavo and Aberdare.Leleshwa Camp offers a deluxe accommodation in the private Siana Conservancy with varied African safari activities during your time in eastern Masai Mara. Situated within the 29,000-acre Siana Conservancy, the camp is the perfect place to relax in the wilderness, exchange stories with other guests, savor delicious food and enjoy the company of your family and friends. The conservancy was introduced in 2010, and Leleshwa highlights the best aspects of the pristine bush country that surrounds you. The accommodation is designed for a maximum of sixteen guests in 7 well-appointed tents that reflect the décor and neo-design of classic safaris. A large private verandah evokes ideas of sitting quietly while watching the unique animal behavior that occurs daily in the stream, valley and plains. Inside your canvas tent is a supremely soothing environment that is highly comfortably furnished for your convenience. Every detail has been included for a frill, memorable holiday in Masai Mara National Reserve. Fresh, high-quality linens and king-size beds give you quiet slumber, while nightstands and bedside lamps allow for reading before falling asleep. The dark wood accents of the en-suite bathroom rejuvenate you, and the large vanity, shower, toilet and single sink are well-designed for your daily dressing and preparations. Your private patio has safari chairs to relax in and consume the surrounding wilds. To ensure your utmost comfort during your activity-enriched AfricanMecca travel in Kenya, you may choose from a variety of well-maintained rooms, including standard, family and honeymoon tents. The family tent has a separate sitting area that features a coffee table, single bed, armchair and daybed for evening conversations.French press coffee and aromatic tea welcome you to a new day at Masai Mara Game Reserve. As the sun rises above the horizon, you travel in the comfort of a custom safari vehicle for an enchanting photo tour of Kenya’s remote outback. Your guide describes the greater Masai Mara ecosystem, including flora and fauna, so that you gain a deeper understanding of the ecological value of the area. The enlightening discussion is interspersed with local folklore, charming anecdotes and native traditions. Should you plan your unforgettable AfricanMecca vacation in Masai Mara Reserve from July to October, you have a front row seat to one of the most spectacular events on the East African plains – the Great Wildebeest Migration. The excitement and pure adventure slowly builds your appetite, and a private bush breakfast is the superior way to end your morning. You may also opt to return to camp for a delightful breakfast with other guests. Visit the camp library and find a good book to read, or return to your tent for a refreshing nap. Lunch is served at the communal dining table, and you have a chance to make new friends. The conversation continues in the elegant lounge over a cocktail. Before your afternoon activity, a cup of tea and yummy snacks prepare you for a game drive, bush walk or community visit. Sundowners around the campfire once again bring you together with other guests before a romantic dinner under the stars. We also recommend enhancements to your time at Leleshwa Camp, such as hot air balloon safari, hiking in the Loita Hills, mobile or fly camping, night game drives, to name some of the additional safari activities. Leleshwa Camp specializes in family-focused safaris with children friendly activities like making bow and arrows with the Maasai warrior, bread making in the kitchen with the chef, craft making with Maasai women, treasure hunts, bush walks dedicated to footprint-dropping identification and much more.
