GUIDE ON LAKE NAIVASHA SIMBA LODGE IN KENYA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge
Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge is a modest accommodation for your economical East African lake safari. Naivasha is one of the freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley, and spending time on its shores allows you to leisurely enjoy some of Kenya’s most spectacular scenery. The lodge is set on the shores of the lake, and the majestic Mount Longonot, an extinct volcano, serves as an awe-inspiring backdrop. The 70 guest rooms are arranged in blocks of ten rooms – six rooms on the ground floor and four rooms on the upper level. Families who are traveling with their children and small groups are pleased to know that they will have a comfortable, bonded holiday in Kenya as the two center rooms in each block are interconnecting. Budget honeymooners and romantic couples seeking a private retreat during their bush vacation at Lake Naivasha will appreciate the end rooms that feature open air showers and private courtyards. All guest rooms are simply decorated with wrought accents, mahogany furniture and sunken lounge area with television. For our AfricanMecca guests who seek peace and quiet with a good view, we recommend the upper-floor rooms, and guests with limited mobility should request rooms near the main building. We also advise our guests that the beds at Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge do not have insect-proof netting over your bed, so bring insect repellant for in-room sprays for extra use. Being a budget accommodation that caters to the masses of tourists and corporate conferences, expect staff interactions to be less personal and variable in addition to the service quality being less than optimum. Start your day with a morning nature walk at Crescent Island combine with a boating tour of Lake Naivasha when the avi-fauna of the lake is beginning the early ritual of hunting for tilapia, black bass and other fish. You may hear an avian cry and swoosh of an African fish eagle hunting down on the waters as your sail across the lake. While these avian hunters are the most aerobatic and dramatic to watch, the most abundant bird species are pink-backed pelicans. More than 450 resident and migratory avi-fauna have been recorded around the lake, so you will be mesmerized by the feathered presence well into the morning. Should you return to the lodge before your breakfast is ready, ask the kitchen staff if you can help prepare the meal the African way or simply inspect. After breakfast, spend time in the lounge, by the pool or on your verandah, and then return to the dining area for an adequate lunch. Between lunch and your afternoon safari activity, return to the pool or enjoy a guided walk around the grounds of Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge. Take an afternoon boat tour of the lake that ends at sunset, or take a guided nature walk with a guide and return to the lodge for sundowners followed by dinner (read more on when is the best time to travel to Lake Naivasha). If you want to expand your active-adventure lake trip in Kenya, AfricanMecca Safaris can also arrange longer day trips to Hell’s Gate National Park for mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding and Longonot mountain trekking or optionally combining it with a visit to Lake Nakuru Park for terrestrial, avian and aquatic game driving with a picnic lunch.
