GUIDE ON LAKE NAIVASHA COUNTRY CLUB IN KENYA
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Lake Naivasha Country Club
You will be effectively transporting yourself back to the 1930’s when you stay at the Lake Naivasha Country Club during your Great Rift Valley vacation in Kenya. This quaint, value accommodation once served as a staging post for Imperial Airways. Being a colonial structure, it tries to retain the charm of those yesteryears but still looks weary even after an attempted refurbishment. The lodge is spread over 55 acres of pleasant, landscaped gardens shaded with acacia and fever trees, which even the terrestrial animals find alluring. You are likely to see zebras and varied antelopes arriving to graze on the lush grasses and perchance a couple of hippos might emerge from the lake for a nearby early morning or night snack. The Lake Naivasha Country Club is an ideal budget accommodation for your non-frill lake trip of East Africa. They have 50 rooms in four different specifications, Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Executive Cottage Rooms and the Presidential Suite. The rooms, housed in cottages, are wheelchair friendly and elderly or physically challenged AfricanMecca guests will also find them comfortably accessible. Each of the rooms has a chargeable small bar and tea / coffee making supplies. Safe deposit lockers are provided for storing your valuables during your bush travels in this part of Kenya and the bathrooms come equipped with a hairdryer and scales. While the rooms are comfortable, you might find that they need to update as they seem worn out in some places; though, such aging is expected out of value lodge (read more on where else to stay in Lake Naivasha on your central Kenya safari). The rooms all face the lawns and kids can have fun playing on their African family holiday under your watchful parental eyes. The lodge also has a trampoline that the kids absolutely love. You may allow them to go for a swim though it can get noisy around the pool for other guests who prefer a quieter accommodation ambience. Kids will enjoy the antics of the monkeys in the trees and will be delighted to see avian-life alighting in the wild garden. The Lake Naivasha Country Club has two restaurants where your meals are served i.e. The Terrace and Flavours Restaurant. They also have two bars, the Tavern Bar that is next door to the billiards room and the Pool Bar that serves your drinks as you lounge beside the pool. Stop by at the Rolling Pin for hot drinks and confectionary or sample barbecued fare that is cooked to your taste in the open. The lodge sets up an open-air counter and you can savor your dinner on the lawn. Vegetarians will also find an adequate collection of dishes for them with prior notice. The lodge lawns end at the lakeshore where you can take boat rides to view flamingos, fish eagles, cormorants and pelicans around the lake. Hippos lie submerged in the swamps among the papyrus reeds with only their ears, eyes and snout showing while buffaloes might arrive for a cooling dip in the lake. But the highlight of your Lake Naivasha boat tour is the glorious sunset you can watch while sipping drinks aboard your vessel. Crescent Island is accessible with a fifteen minute boat ride from the lodge and you can explore the island on foot in the company of impalas, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, waterbucks and wildebeests. There are no predators here though treacherous buffalos and hippos are present. You can additionally bird-watch and wander around contentedly. Lake Naivasha and its surrounding locales have recorded an awesome 450 species of birds. You may also opt for strolls on the lodge grounds and spot the many-colored feathered inhabitants of Naivasha. AfricanMecca recommends extending out to safari in Lake Nakuru for maximal terrestrial wildlife viewing opportunities in the rift valley.
