ZANZIBAR BEACH RESORT

Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Zanzibar Beach Resort

An economy focused accommodation on the western coast of Zanzibar Island, the Zanzibar Beach Resort is spread in a backdrop of landscaped gardens with the thatched roofs adding a coastal ambience to the common areas beside the free-form swimming pool. It is located south of Stone Town, and with a 10 minute drive into town, you can explore the ancient Swahili structures and bazaars as part your cultural and historical tour of yesteryear Zanzibar. The resort itself is subtly adorned to reflect Zanzibari styles; however, it sorely lacks maintenance, efficient staff and service. Zanzibar Beach Resort has 88 rooms for budget guests traveling in this part of East Africa, in five different specifications and in various locations around the property. Housed in two-story structures or standalone chalets, 20 of the rooms offer vistas of the Indian Ocean while 16 face the gardens. They have an additional 50 Deluxe Rooms and 2 Suites - Honeymoon Suite and Executive Suite. All rooms come with air-conditioning, TV with satellite connection, safe and minibar. The hotel has three diners, one of them is the Spice Restaurant overlooking the pool, which has a swim-up bar where you can order cool drinks while taking leisurely dips. The resort also has a gym and provides simple massage services.

To experience the underworld around Zanzibar Beach Resort, take your leisure vacation time to explore the coral reefs around Stone Town or even the distinct marine reserve of Mnemba Atoll in the northeastern region, and see what lies below the glistening waters. A breathtakingly striking setting will be revealed to you as you go scuba diving and snorkeling. View the colorful inhabitants of the stunning coral gardens and adore the unusual forms of marine life as they try to camouflage themselves among the reefs. On shore, you must visit the Jozani Forest on a primate viewing expedition. Your expert AfricanMecca guide will talk to you about the rare red colobus monkeys’ habitat and social behaviors. You will also enjoy learning about the diversity of the woodland flora and other creatures such as sykes monkeys and suni antelope to the smaller millipedes, lizards, butterflies, frogs and many more. Also include a visit to the famous spice plantations to your itinerary on your island exploratory trip in Zanzibar. Here, you can take a curious lesson in the harvesting techniques of the spices and understand their various uses aside from seasoning food. It will interest you to learn that they can also be used to color fabrics. Sample the unique fruits that grow here such as shoki shoki, durian, custard apples, bungos to name a few. You could also spend a thrilling afternoon on your aquatic holiday in Zanzibar fishing at a distinctly chosen spot around the around deep waters. Try angling for swordfish, sailfish, marlins, wahoo, tuna and many more in accordance with the conservation regulations of Zanzibar.
