FORODHANI PARK HOTEL IN STONE TOWN ZANZIBAR
Located next to Stone Town’s Old Arab Fort, Forodhani Park Hotel is an economical option for your budget-conscious trip with AfricanMecca to the island of Zanzibar. Stone Town is the oldest and most historically-significant section on the isle, and Forodhani Park Hotel is strategically located for quick access to the old town’s many tourist landmarks. Most of the 19 rooms have private balconies so you can intimately watch the buzzing activities on the streets. Some of the most interesting views, though, are from the front-most rooms. From the rooftop, you see the House of Wonders (Beit-al-Ajaib), Old Arab Fort (Ngome Kongwe) and the skyline of Stone Town. All of the rooms feature the necessary conveniences that you need during a coastal getaway vacation in Zanzibar, such as television with cable channels, air conditioning, telephone, free Wi-Fi access, en-suite bathroom, minibar, mosquito netting and ceiling fan. Double rooms are adequate for up to two adults, and private balconies are offered with the deluxe option. Twin rooms feature the same traditional décor, and the deluxe option improves your views and few even include a private balcony. Triple rooms offer a comfortable accommodation for up to four adults, as well as private balconies. The largest option is the Presidential Suite that features a private balcony with finest views, Hammam shower and plenty of space. We recommend the rooms on the upper floors for the most privacy and unobtrusive. All of the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-maintained. There is also a unique rooftop pool with dining facilities.
As a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tanzania, Stone Town is one of the most interesting and historically-significant cities on the planet. Staying in the heart of Zanzibar allows you to develop a deep and personal connection with the Swahili people and its culture. We recommend that you start your day with a palatable breakfast, and Forodhani Park Hotel is known for tasty morning fare. Stone Town offers an almost endless amount of attractions for the perfect cultural holiday. With so much to see and do, we recommend that you first become oriented with the bucolic metropolis, and a private Stone Town tour with AfricanMecca fits the bill perfectly! Your guide expertly navigates the many twists and turns of the narrow roads that are lined with quaint buildings featuring a blend of cultural influences. Of particular note are the heavy carved doors with brass embellishments. Your excursion covers all of the major landmarks, such as House of Wonders, Anglican Church on the location of the former slave market, Tippu Tip House, House of Wonders (Beit-al-Ajaib), a cultural center at the Old Indian Dispensary and much more. You also visit the small dukas (stores) for a bit of souvenir shopping and the market sampling of local street food, fruits, spices, herbs and other edibles. You may delve further into the world-renowned raw seasoning cultivation during an afternoon tour of a Zanzibar spice farm. The travel allows you to see the more rural areas of the island, as well as see the beginnings of distinct spices, such as cinnamon, cloves, lemongrass, nutmeg and much more. Zanzibar also has one more secret – Jozani Forest. Believe it or not, even on this small East African island in the Indian Ocean, you can still experience a bit of terrestrial wilderness. Your guide takes you on a small-scale forest walk safari along a well-maintained nature trail. The most well-known species in the forest are the endangered red colobus monkeys, but the guided walks also reveal a multitude of other little fluttering, leaping and scampering creatures.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
