UROA BAY BEACH RESORT IN ZANZIBAR
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Uroa Bay Beach Resort
The tiny fishing village of Uroa on the east coast of Zanzibar, powdery soft sands, the stunning azure of the Indian Ocean and lush tropical greenery, this is the setting for the economy Uroa Bay Beach Resort. The accommodation with its collection of thatched-roof structures set among landscaped gardens forms an agreeable ambience for your barefoot seaside vacation in this part of East Africa. It has a plunge pool for relaxing and larger free-form swimming pool with a walkway across it. At one end is a circular wading pool for kids to frolic. Choose a book from the hotel’s library and enjoy a good read under the makuti parasols on the beach in comfortable day loungers. Physically challenged guests will find that their needs are also looked after with wheelchair accessible rooms. The Uroa Beach Resort offers 61 rooms to value AfricanMecca guests, and you can choose rooms that face the ocean or the gardens. These rooms are housed in blocks of 1, 2 or 4 rooms. The resort has 36 Garden View Rooms, 4 Superior Garden View Rooms, 6 Superior Sea View Rooms and 6 Superior Sea Front Rooms. Household with children can opt for the 2 Family Sea Front Rooms, 2 Family Sea View Rooms, 1 Family Suite Room and 4 Family Garden Rooms. Each of the air-conditioned rooms comes with a comfortable double or twin beds with mosquito netting. There are other amenities like a TV with satellite connection, telephone, minibar, ceiling fan, tea and coffee making supplies and safe deposit box. The attached bathroom includes a bidet and walk-in shower stall, and you can request for a hairdryer at the reception. Enjoy tasty cooked, wholesome meals at Uroa Bay Beach Resort’s main diner, the Restaurant Jua. Order drinks at the Bar Rafiki beside the Jua or at the beachfront Pwani Bar. Zanzibar Island has many exciting facets to explore and you could spend time roaming the narrow streets of its ancient bazaars in Stone Town during your leisure day at Uroa Bay Beach Resort. Here you could shop for delicate bead jewelry, fresh spices and intricately carved artifacts to take home as souvenirs of your Tanzanian vacation. You could also view the many aged buildings even as you listen in awe to the tales behind their construction as related by your expert AfricanMecca guide. Next, you could tour the spice farmlands on the island and see zests like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, anise and many more growing on the trees. Also, learn the names of the infrequent fruits endemic to the island such as bungo, durian, and shoki-shoki, among others. Travel to the Jozanifor a primate-viewing expedition to spot the rare Kirk's colobus monkey at the forest reserve. Watch this fascinating primate as they groom one another and forage for food. The underwater coral gardens of Mnemba Atoll in the northeast are best explored by going snorkeling and diving in them. Here you can view the stunning array of coral in different shapes and forms providing refuge to a dazzling variety of reef creatures. Or, spend an afternoon aboard one of the fishing boats angling under the supervision of an experienced skipper. On this oceanic trip, you might encounter marlin, sailfish, dorado, trevally, swordfish and yellow-fin tuna, to name a few.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
