MALAIKA BEACH RESORT IN MWANZA BY LAKE VICTORIA

Overlooking the beautiful setting of Lake Victoria in Mwanza are the 32 guest suites of Malaika Beach Resort. For your lake holiday in Africa at Malaika, choose from "bed and breakfast" style deluxe suites and executive suites available in single bed twins and doubles. Your room is tastefully decorated with rich jewel tones set against neutral walls with adequate furnishings, such as a large comfortable bed, seating area and bathroom. The most spectacular part of your room is the incredible view of the lake and beach, especially at sunset. Sitting on your terrace with a cup of Masala tea or Arabica coffee and watching the tranquil waves of the freshwater can be a tranquil experience during your trip to Lake Victoria -- the largest in Africa and the source of the River Nile. The rooms with the best views are on the upper floors and in the front lake portion of the property. The location of these rooms, though, requires you to climb many steps to get to the restaurant, and this may be a limiting factor for some guests each time though arrangements can be made for meals to be served at the ground level with prior request via your AfricanMecca trip planner. Families with children are welcome at Malaika Beach Resort, and the playground is an excellent place to allow the youngsters to play while mom and dad enjoy the vistas of the lake. The resort also features meeting and conference facilities. Continental breakfast and light lunches are served at the resort's deli, and the Pool Bar is also a great place to find a small mid-day meal. Meals though, a less gastronomic experience in terms of quality with much needed improvement and consistency in excellence. The discerning food represents three types of cuisine -- Tanzanian, Indian and international, all complemented with a selection of wines, beers and cocktails from the lounge. Beverages are also served on the secluded beach for those romantic occasions when you want to watch the spectacular colors of sunset reflected upon the surface of Lake Victoria. Another way to relax and pamper yourself during a lakeside safari in Tanzania is to lounge by the swimming pool or visit the Healing Earth Retreat. At this beautiful spa, you enjoy traditional healing treatments that are derived from native plants and oils that are blessed with the healing properties of the sun. The excitement and adventure of your African active safari require physical fitness and stamina, and the Malaika Boutique Gym offers a fully-equipped facility, sauna and steam rooms, as well as a relaxing Jacuzzi with views of Lake Victoria. Malaika Beach Resort is just minutes from the Mwanza business district for shopping and cultural activities, and any Malaika Beach Resort nature tour should include a visit for a few nights to the nearby Rubondo Island National Park or even the western portion of Serengeti on your AfricanMecca trip (read more on when is the best time to visit Mwanza in Northern Tanzania). At the national park, you may partake of walking and boat safaris. Rubondo park is a wonderful location for bird watching while Serengeti is best known for its wildebeest migration and high concentration of predators and other herbivores.

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.

Dear Raza, Not a day has passed that we have not been overwhelmed by what we experienced, and by how fantastic our vacation was. It was truly magical. We saw the" Big Five", lion mating and the migration. It was the vacation of a lifetime.
