MIZINGANI SEAFRONT HOTEL IN STONE TOWN ZANZIBAR
Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Mizingani Seafront Hotel
As its name suggests, the Mizingani Seafront Hotel is a budget accommodation located on the East African waterfront of the Indian Ocean near the Zanzibar Ferry Port Terminal (read more on other places to stay in Stone Town). Originally built in 1865 to serve as a honeymoon stayover for yesteryear royalty, it has been refurbished to its former stature and now serves global vacationers with an old relic, a cannon beside the carved front entrance reminding you of the colorful history of the island. Furnished with authentic Zanzibari furniture, brass artifacts, arched niches, clocks, armoires, and intricate iron and wood railings, Mizingani retains much of its authentic look. Its location is ideal for exploring the tourist attractions of Stone Town such as the Sultan’s Palace Museum or the Beit-al-Sahel, the Forodhani bazaars, Old Fort, House of Wonders or the Beit-al-Ajaib and many more. The Mizingani Seafront Hotel has a collection of 31 rooms arranged around a central courtyard that also houses the swimming pool. They are located over three floors above the street ground level and serviced by an elevator. Like-minded AfricanMecca guests can choose from rooms in different specifications designed to suit the comfort of every economy requirement such as Single Room, Suite Double Room, Double Suite Room, Suite Twin Room, Triple Deluxe Suite, Standard Family Room, Executive Suite Room, Presidential Suite Room and Prime Family Room. The rooms come with air-conditioning and ceiling fan alongside amenities like safe deposit box, Wi-Fi accessibility, LCD television with cable connection, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making arrangements. Attached bathroom includes mosaic tiled baths and hot water for your bath, warmed by solar panels.
Have adequate, wholesome meals at their open-air Sea View Restaurant that has a Swahili ambience with colored glass panels, wall lamps and carved woodwork. Begin your explorations of the island with the attractions close by. Also, make your way to see the Anglican Church constructed in an attempt to erase the memory of the ill-famed slave trade from Zanzibar’s and Tanzania’s past. You can shop at the olden stores that stock wares just like they have for centuries. Admire the brightly colored Kitenge textiles and the appealing trinkets that are perfect accessories. You can also view the many spices that have been grown and harvested on the island. Take the time to trip out to the spice and fruit farms of Zanzibar and marvel as your adept AfricanMecca guide talks to you about the medicines that can be concocted from them, from cloves to turmeric. You will also learn about the dutiful rites that use spices and the fabric dyes that are made from them. Just as fascinating are the appearances and names of many unfamiliar fruits that grow on the island. Yet another fascinating feature of the island is the red colobus monkey that you must view on your coastal wilderness holiday. This creature came close to extinction and thanks to the reserve, Jozani Forest, and other conservation efforts, they now number over 2000. This woodland haven is also home to many species of rare flora, insects, amphibians and reptiles that you will enjoy micro-photographing as you wander through it. Return back to Mizingani Seafront Hotel for your dinner and overnight rest after an active day of traveling the island.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.

Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
