KARAFUU BEACH RESORT & SPA IN ZANZIBAR
Whether you are looking for an exciting fun-filled beach vacation in Zanzibar filled with games and glee or a soothing holiday with lots of warm sunshine on pearly white seashores with only the sounds of the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean playing on the sands, the Karafuu Beach Resort & Spa has something for everyone. The facilities at this value accommodation include tennis courts, mini-soccer field, table tennis tables, two swimming pools, beach volleyball area, gym and a dive center. AfricanMecca guests looking for some pampering can enjoy massage sessions at the spa. Karafuu Beach Resort has a collection of 119 rooms with different specifications, and you can choose the one that best suits you for a stayover while traveling in Zanzibar. The 28 Garden Rooms, located on the incline of the lush gardens, can accommodate up to 3 guests while the 40 Cottage Rooms set amidst coconut trees offer part vistas of the sea and are suitable for up to 4 guests. The hotel has a distinct section called the Bondeni area that houses 20 rooms in all and each can sleep 3 guests at a time. Families of 4 or couples can opt for the ocean-facing 26 Junior Suite Rooms but if you are looking for larger living spaces while on your seaside trip in Tanzania, you could choose one of the 3 available Suite Rooms that include a private lounge. The resort also offers 2 Villas, each with 2 bedrooms and spacious enough to sleep 6 guests. Dine on a selection of multi-cuisine fare in the resort's different restaurants, Marikiti, Bondeni, Eatalian, Grand Bleu, Masai Village and Floating Restaurant. The Zanzi Bar, Pool Bar and Bondeni Bar are the outlets for drinks and social interactions. But there is a lot to do outside Karafuu than just its dazzling beachfront at Michamvi, and you must take the time to explore all of Zanzibar’s prime attractions. Begin by going fishing in the deeper waters off the island where you can try catching sailfish, marlins, swordfish, kingfish and many other varieties. The marine reserve of Mnemba Atoll off the coast of Matemwe Beach in the northeastern zone is a superlative spot to go scuba diving and snorkeling; however, there are other closer reefs around Michamvi that are easily accessible too. You can view the breathtaking coral gardens where a number of distinct reef creatures flourish in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. On shore, you could visit the famous spice plantations during Zanzibar day tour and view the zings you find in your local grocery store, growing on the trees. Taste them in their natural, fresh form along with the luscious fruits that you are likely to find only in this part of the East Africa. You could also go on a primate-viewing foray at the Jozani Forest, a conservation area set aside for the endangered Kirk’s red colobus monkey. Thanks to dedicated efforts, they are now making a comeback. Also, visit the ancient section of the island, Stone Town that also serves as its capital. Your expert AfricanMecca guide will take you to see the many olden edifices, each with an architecture belonging to a different era in Zanzibar's vibrant history. Here, you could buy beautiful hand-crafted mementos to remind of your dream holiday in Africa.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
