OCEAN PARADISE RESORT IN ZANZIBAR
Off the coast of Tanzania, in the gorgeous Indian Ocean is the charming island of Zanzibar, a unique destination for your beach trip to Africa. It has a very tranquil laid-back ambience and its many seasides are perfect for rest and relaxation after your safari adventures in the many reserves and parks of Eastern and Southern Africa. Greeted by the sight of makuti thatched, circular chalets set amidst tropical gardens, arrive at the mid-range Ocean Paradise Resort on Kiwengwa Beach after a delightful airport transfer with AfricanMecca that takes you through rural Zanzibari fishing and farming villages. The lush greenery, only broken by colorful flowers, is set on around 16 acres of shore property with stunning white beachfront and the gentle hum of the azure blue Indian Ocean only adding to the serenity of the resort. Smiling faces with choruses of "Jambo" welcome you on your dream holiday (read more on why visit Zanzibar). You will be staying in one of their 98 rooms offered in two specifications, Standard and Superior sited over two story and single story chalets respectively. You will have access to your own patio or balcony where you can lounge in complete solitude. The rooms are air-conditioned and have beds with mosquito nets for your protection. They also include a TV with satellite connection, mini bar, direct-dial phone and ensuite bathroom complete with hairdryer, shower and bidet.
Ocean Paradise has a selection of 3 restaurants in different locations, each creating a unique ambience for your meals as part of your culinary travel in Eastern Africa. Choose from delicious, varied cuisines, Zanzibari, Asian, Continental and much more. The swimming pool with its bar offers tantalizing glimpses of a cool-off retreat in between your meals. Later, you can work off the meals at the resort’s in-house gym or by going for long walks on the sun-kissed sands where you will discover many unusual sea creatures in the shallows left by the receding tide. If you would like to see them in their natural setting, you must go scuba diving and snorkelling at varied reef sites around Kiwengwa or further northeast at Mnemba Atoll, off the coast of Matemwe Beach. The amazing variety of colorful corals and the delightful aquatic creatures that inhabit the reefs are simply breathtaking. Also, go fishing on your active-adventure vacation in Tanzania at one of the selected sites in the deeper ocean off the coastline. It will interest you to know that Zanzibar has a small wildlife reserve of its own located in the center of the island, Jozani Forest, set aside for the conservation of the endemic red colobus monkeys and other smaller denizens. Add a trip to the famous spice and fruit plantations to your AfricanMecca day tour of Zanzibar and enjoy viewing the fragrant seasonings growing on the trees. You could pick them yourself and savor their authentic, unprocessed taste. The island is also famous for many unusual, varieties of fruit that you can try. During your leisure day, make your way to the capital, Stone Town, a quaint section of Zanzibar, rich with history and centuries-old culture. The timeworn lichen-covered buildings and museums talk of a long-gone era of sultans and colonial rulers.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
