Zanzibar Island, located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania, is a dream location for a distinctive beach holiday. Its collection of seashores is absolutely stunning to spend time on with their white coral sands, azure waters and tropical palms rustling in the gentle breeze. The Next Paradise Boutique Resort is a no-frill accommodation near the village of Pwani Mchangani on Kiwengwa Beach, one of the most beautiful in eastern Zanzibar (read more on places to stay). The hotel has a collection of makuti-thatched villas, some with two stories and common areas that give it a very agreeable feel. You can laze in the eco-gazebos with sun loungers on the beach or take dips in the two swimming pools, one of which has a jacuzzi section where kids can play around in when not operational. The Next Paradise Boutique Resort has 20 rooms in 11 specifications for every kind of economy traveler. For instance, you can stay at the Standard Double, Superior Double Garden, Oceanfront or Panorama Suite. The hotel also has a Honeymoon Suite. One to three AfricanMecca guests can comfortably stay in the Twin, Standard Double, Superior Double Pool or Beachfront Bungalow. Families can opt for the Beachfront Family Room that comes with two bedrooms while groups of four to five boarders can stay in the Family Room Garden that has two interconnected rooms. The air conditioning rooms are furnished with carved Zanzibari furniture and beds covered with mosquito netting for a comfortable night’s sleep. The ceiling fan circulates sea breeze air, and each room includes a minibar, safety deposit box and LCD TV. The attached bathrooms have a bidet, hairdryer and bathrobes for your use. The Panorama Suite has a Jacuzzi while some of the larger rooms also have tea and coffee making supplies.
Next Paradise Boutique Resort serves you appetizing, homely fare in its open restaurant with a thatched roof. Choose from seafood, Swahili, Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisine. Later, you can head out to the seaside for a swim or go on a shopping trip in the old bazaars of Zanzibar. You will feel like Omani and Swahili residents of the yesteryears as you examine the wares of the tiny stores and haggle for best prices for the exquisite items on display. Explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of East Africa, and listen in awe as your AfricanMecca tour guide talks to you about the tales behind their construction. For instance, the Anglican Church was built when the slave trade was abolished, an objectionable era in the island’s history. Spend time deep sea fishing on your oceanic vacation at the varied chosen sites around the island, and you might just meet some of the stunning gamefish that abound here – from marlins to sailfish. The coral reef reserves off the Zanzibar coast are outstanding locations to go diving and snorkeling to view the incredible diversity of marine flora and fauna. On shore, the Jozani Forest Reserve is a conservation site you must visit. The special denizen of this biome is the rare red colobus monkey that is recovering from the threat of extinction. Also, explore the spice plantations of Zanzibar, and relish viewing the raw seasonings growing on the trees.

The Zanzibar Stone Town tour guide was superlative. He was outstanding and gave us undivided attention. We felt that was great value and to be escorted round the market place and slave stations was like walking in a living museum.

I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
Ras Nungwi was a beautiful property, the pristine white beach not more than forty feet from our lovely room, the Indian Ocean sublime. Raza, it was the vacation of a lifetime, again, thanks so much.
