GUIDE ON KUSINI KOPJES KAMBI IN SERENGETI
In southern Serengeti, resident species, such as elephants, giraffes, warthogs, hippos, buffaloes, impalas and other herbivores graze quietly while ever alert to the proximity of lions, cheetahs, leopards, African wild dogs and other sly hunters, creating an ideal setting for a special safari experience. Every year, the earth trembles with the arrival of over 1.5 million wildebeests and thousands of zebras that follow the ancient path of the Great Serengeti Migration. The spectacle unfolds from December to March, which coincides with the wildebeest calving season. The birthing of the migration takes on a unique character in southern Serengeti. Even if you have witnessed the migration elsewhere in Serengeti on a previous safari, we encourage you to see a new perspective in the southern section of the park.
Each morning at the mid-range bush accommodation of Kusini Kopjes Kambi begins with the soft glow of morning sunlight to warm you as the impressive landscape slowly comes alive with the leisurely movements of wildlife in Serengeti National Park. Located amidst olden kopjes, the camp provides unparalleled access to wildlife viewing in the southern plains.
Accommodation At Kusini Kopjes KambiThe camp features twelve guest tents, including one honeymoon suite for a romantic safari holiday, and a central tent with lounge and dining area where you dine upon dishes that are prepared with locally sourced African ingredients. Each tent offers breathtaking views of the plains, a shaded exterior space with seating, and a pleasing interior space that has all the comforts of home. The tents are divided into three distinct sections. The seating area has a sofa, coffee table, chairs and a writing desk. The central portion of the tent is dedicated to a bed with mosquito netting canopy, nightstands and lamps. The ensuite bathroom is designed with a dual vanity with ceramic basins, soaking tub, indoor shower, flush toilet and glass-walled outdoor rain shower.
The walls of the canvas tent have netting and roll-up canvas that allows in cool breezes or lets you enclose yourself in privacy as needed. You simply cannot imagine a more tranquil and relaxing space in the remote wilderness of Tanzania for your amazing safari vacation to Serengeti National Park. The camp allows children ages five and up, however specialist children activities other than game drives are not available. Guests with limited mobility can be accommodated. Power at Kusini Kopjes Kambi is provided via solar and generator, and you have access to Wi-Fi services and charging stations for your cameras and devices.
Safari At Kusini Kopjes KambiGuests who are experienced travelers and those who are new to the heart-pounding excitement of being on safari have ample opportunities to discover why Serengeti National Park is a world-class destination. Your guide expertly navigates the vast plains during your morning and afternoon game drives to find the optimum spots for wildlife viewing. Once you get a taste of the expansiveness of the park, get up-close and personal with nature with a guided walking safari. You can also spend time with some of the local people during a community tour. No bush trip is complete without one of the more classic safari activities — hot-air ballooning over the African savannah. Soaring above the plains gives you a unique perspective, and the experience concludes with a celebratory champagne breakfast at the landing site.
Dining At Kusini Kopjes KambiWhen you are not out on an adventurous tour exploring the flora and fauna of Serengeti National Park, the camp offers common areas to relax and satisfy your appetite. The chef prepares bush meals, as well as hot options that are served in the dining area. We recommend that you partake of the bush meals that are available for your game drives, as well as on a private dining basis. Breakfast can be taken at the camp or in the bush as part of your game drive. Lunch and dinner are served in the central tent with other guests, providing you with an opportunity to mingle and exchange stories about your adventures in the wilds of East Africa.

Things To Note When Staying At Kusini Kopjes Kambi
- The camp is not 100% green, and relies on both solar and generator power

AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
