GUIDE ON SELOUS KINGA LODGE IN TANZANIA
As you plan your dream expedition vacation in Africa, thoughts run through your mind of seeing incredible wildlife roam freely across a vast landscape and spending your African nights under a brilliant moon and sparkling stars. Located in southern Tanzania on the banks of the Rufiji River, Selous Kinga Lodge is the place that gives you everything you imagine about Africa on an affordable experience. Situated amidst a gorgeous, pristine setting, the budget-friendly lodge envelops you with African culture, hospitality and a unique blend of water and bush activities during your Tanzanian wildlife tour of Africa. This home-friendly lodge features guest cottages and tented accommodations, and the common areas include the Kinga lounge, Tetvia Bar, restaurant, swimming pool and curio shop. The cushioning of the lodge to the wild and untouched Selous Game Reserve means that you may choose from game drives, boat safaris and walking safaris, as well as cultural visits to the village of Mloka. Prepare to journal each day of your travel in Africa, and you may write about a lone eland male at dusk smelling the air or or listen to reverberations in the bush for signs of predators, your sighting of the rare black rhino and much more. Selous Kinga Lodge is an exclusive lodge that welcomes every type of AfricanMecca guest, such as newlyweds – honeymooners, families on safari, single travelers, couples and corporate groups.
Accommodation At Azura SelousFor your discerning safari holiday visit in Tanzania, Selous Kinga Lodge offers eight guest cottages and two tents – total of 10 rooms. The decor of the accommodations is a lovely blend of warm earth tones and soft cream to relax your mind and body after a day of exciting African safari adventures. The thatched roof cottages with stone walls feature king or twin beds, as well as full modern bathrooms with an unpretentious shower area that is designed with a window to bring in the natural light of the African sun, what guests often crave during the cold winters in the northern hemisphere. The tents are more rustic and have canvas structure with a thatched roof, giving AfricanMecca guests the experience of a traditional Tanzania safari. The cottages and tents have spacious terraces where you enjoy a cup of tea/coffee or simply sit and listen to the sounds of wildlife as the stars twinkle in the night sky. Selous Kinga Lodge has more than homely conveniences that you need, such as a lounge, bar, restaurant, gift shop and swimming pool. Room service is available during your stay, and the in-room tea and coffee maker means that you always have your favorite warm beverages close at hand.
Safari At Selous Kinga LodgeImmerse yourself in a once-in-a-lifetime experience during your trip to the Selous by participating in game drives, boat safaris and walking safaris. These activities are available in the morning and afternoon, and each time of the day gives you the chance to see a different type of wildlife behavior. On full day stays, AfricanMecca guests have enough time for two activities except on the arrival and departure days. The diversity of the landscape at Selous Game Reserve is best appreciated when you see it from different perspectives. Game drives give you access to the open savannah, acacia woodlands and dense forest where herbivores dot the landscape, such as elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and many others. Close to these animals, though, are stealthy predators, such as lion, leopard, hyena, African Wild Dog and many others. Your guide travels in relation to the destination and wildlife experiences and describes animal behavior, habitats, species and much more. The pristine wilderness of Selous Game Reserve is one of the world's only remaining places to see these animals in a natural setting, and your guide has just the knowledge needed to take you to the best locations during your game drives. To enhance your game drive experiences even more, the two-way radio in your safari vehicle allows your guide to relay and receive up-to-the-minute information from preferred guides about rare safari experiences that are happening within the reserve, such as certain wildlife behaviors, endangered species and much more. The lakes, rivers and other waterways of Selous are best experienced during a boat safari, and many herbivores drink along the shores while lurking predators hunt close to the waters for any compromised prey-kill opportunity. Hippo shade in its waters, crocodile creep just below the surface, fish-eating avi-fauna watch while others skim the waters closely for prey and much more. Experience unique flora and fauna during your Tanzania tour of a walking safari, otherwise missed on game drives. You walk at a leisurely pace while your guide enlightens you about the ecology, tracking techniques, droppings, carcass bones, medicinal uses of plants, bird species and of course, the observation of transitory wildlife around and much more.
Dining At Selous Kinga LodgeWith an abundance of activities available to explore the landscape and wildlife during your Southern Tanzania photo safari, your stay at Selous Kinga Lodge is sure to build your appetite. The lodge chef prepares healthy and tasty meals, and you can even take a picnic lunch with you to enjoy during your extended game drive, boat safari or walking safari. The menu features a variety of choices that are sure to satisfy any preference. Breakfast includes "full English" dishes and other options, such as eggs, cereal, fresh fruit, Tanzanian pancakes, assorted cheeses and much more. After your morning tour of Selous, AfricanMecca guests may return to the lodge for lunch where a variety of platters are served, such as varied meats, cheeses, vegetarian options and many other dishes. After a nice lunch and siesta, you go out once again to discover Africa's flora and fauna. At sunset, the African sky is painted in glorious color, and you relax with a refreshing cocktail. As night sets in, dinner is served, and, once again, the chef has prepared several delicious options, such as meat, poultry, fish, salads, soups, vegetarian options and much more. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a divine dessert and cup of the finest Tanzanian coffee. Selous Kinga Lodge also offers bush meals in special locations. These meals are prepared in a bush kitchen while you enjoy a crackling campfire with a drink from the bush bar.

We have returned from our African adventure and would like to thank you very much for your part in making this such a wonderful experience. We were lucky enough to time the Great Migration from the Serengeti, which was amazing.
Denise Paterson - Belmont, Australia
We had an absolutely unforgettable time. Both our guides were outstanding with so much knowledge. At Selous Game Reserve, we found a group of wild dogs cooling off near a pool of water. The safari was everything we had hoped for.
Gunnar and Liz Kristiansen - Ontario, Canada
I booked my safari holiday through AfricanMecca. They were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with and I work within the travel industry. I had the most amazing time. The holiday went as clockwork with no hitches anywhere.
Shelley Roberts - Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom
AfricanMecca's professionalism and care understands that what distinguishes Africa is its authenticity, the land, people and wildlife who do not share our world of fashion and fanfare that distinguish so many travel companies today.
