DIANI SEA LODGE IN MOMBASA
Situated right on the seafront at Mombasa’s Diani Beach on the south coast, Diani Sea Lodge is a German-owned budget accommodation providing simple lodgings for your beach vacations in Kenya. The pristine white sands of the coast are mere footsteps from the hotel’s pool, and the accommodation is well-positioned for Ukunda sightseeing all along the coastal Diani Beach Road. Similar to its sister budget hotel, Diani Sea Resort, this lodging also caters primarily to guests from Deutschland and most are retired seniors. This large accommodation is also not suitable for AfricanMecca honeymooners and romantics as it caters to over 330+ guests. There are 167 rooms at the lodge are divided into two categories. Superior Rooms are roughly 30 square meters and all have a bathroom with shower and hairdryer as the only room amenity. Bahari Rooms are slightly larger and provide additional amenities such as TVs and mini bars. In both categories, there are family rooms that contain separate extra bedrooms – these are convenient for families considering taking a beach travels to the Indian Ocean together.Facilities at the Diani Sea Lodge are basic. In addition to its souvenir shop and a TV and reading room, there is a pool and a kid’s club and entertainment center a short walking distance away from the main building. Daytime activities organized by the animation team include terrestrial sports such as water polo, water aerobics, volleyball and beach football, and there are tennis courts, pool tables and mini golf. For your ocean tour of South Coast Mombasa, you can also arrange Kisite snorkeling, diving and Mombasa deep-sea fishing excursions via AfricanMecca. Dining options are simple and unsophisticated. Breakfasts and lunches are buffets and are served in the lodge’s dining room, while dinner may be enjoyed either in the dining room or on the lodge’s terrace. The lodge’s bars serve drinks from mid-morning until late and there is a snack bar serving simple fare such as pizza and pasta. While the lodge offers modest meals, there are numerous restaurants dotted along Diani Beach, making dining out during your seaside holiday in South Mombasa very much accessible; though always use approved taxi or transfer services vetted by the hotel.Although Diani Sea Lodge is non-frill accommodation, being close to the beach is a pro but with a drawback on this part of the beach strip. Many tourists find the beach traders who work along Diani a bother, but if you say you do not wish to buy anything, they will not usually persist long. Monkeys at the lodge and at other hotels in Diani are a nuisance too, thanks to unmindful guests feeding them in the past and present too, as they are likely to enter rooms that are left open, but security staff are adept at chasing them away. Many travelers enjoy this wild aspect of the south coast, which is after all the monkeys’ original habitat – most of the hotels along Diani stand in cleared patches of South Coast Jadini Forest. If you don’t mind minimal standard of rooms, dining and basic amenities, Diani Sea Lodge is a suitable accommodation for your seashore travel in this part of East Africa but there are far better other Diani accommodations available with better service, diverse guest demographics at the similar cost or even lower so why settle for less when planning your dream trip. Combine your beach hotel stay in Diani with a Kenya wildlife safari to Masai Mara with AfricanMecca.

My daughter's and my trip that AfricanMecca arranged to South Coast Mombasa, Diani Reef Beach Resort was awesome. We laid on the beach quite a bit, but did manage to take in camel rides and also snorkelling.
