GUIDE ON LITTLE MARA BUSH CAMP IN KENYA
Little Mara Bush Camp is a deluxe, eco-friendly camp, sited beside a tributary of the Talek River, the rain-dependent Olare Orok River that flows through the Masai Mara National Reserve. Looking out over a hippo pool, AfricanMecca guests staying at the camp for their adventure holiday in south-western Kenya can spend long hours on their viewing deck simply watching these giants wallowing in the water, yawning to display their tusks and snorting to warn other hippos in the pool of their dominant presence. On your arrival at this frill bush camp, you will be welcomed with refreshing towels and cool drinks and invited to relax for a while in the lounge with its comfortable sofas and warm, inviting feel. Later you will be shown to one of the 12 guest tents, the camp offers. The riverine glade offers a natural curtain between the tents, and since they are placed at comfortable intervals from each other, you will have most of the privacy you need. Eight of the tents offer you views of the river and hippo pool while the other four offer an ambience of serenity in the lush wilderness. Some of the tents have double beds while others twins. You can also request for the rooms that can sleep three campers. If you are traveling to Masai Mara Reserve with family of four, you can request for either of the two Family Tents, each of which comprises of one double bed, and two added single beds. All the beds come covered with mosquito netting draped on their four-poster frames.Wooden platforms form the heightened base of the tents includes a writing table, chair, closet and also a wooden chest that lends a colonial touch to the canvas room. The patio faces the river or lush wilderness, and you can use the comfortable deck chairs to relax and watch the wildlife drinking at the river or passing by. The en-suite bathroom includes bathrobes for your use along with twin basins and fine toiletries. Hot water for your showers is heated with solar panels, and Little Mara Bush Camp provides mineral water for brushing your teeth. And as you sleep at night, you might hear elephants feeding outside your tent, reminders that you are on an unforgettable vacation tour in Africa. Weather permitting, you can have al fresco lunches served buffet style. At other times, your meals are served in the camp's dining area. Dinners are anticipation meals where a new theme is adopted every night and selected dishes are cooked on site to your taste. If you have any specific dietary request, please inform AfricanMecca at the time of making reservations. Organically produced ingredients are used for cooking most dishes and vegetarians can also be catered for. Carry along packed lunches on your game drives and stay out all day exploring the Masai Mara Game Reserve as you fauna vacation in Kenya. An experienced and knowledgeable guide directing your expedition will amaze you with his understanding of the wildlife you see, including the Big Five of Africa. Listen to him as he describes in careful detail the wonders of the Great Migration of the wildebeest, zebras, elands and gazelles. Also, go on bush walks to study the flora and smaller living creatures of Masai Mara more closely or on balloon safaris for an aerial view of the awesome, photogenic topography. Introduce your kids to the fascinating culture of the Maasai at their village where they will learn to make weapons, ethnic enlightenment and identifying footprints on their family trip to the Mara.
