SCORPIO VILLAS IN MALINDI

Navigation Tip - Go Directly To Prices, Reviews, Map, Photos, Video & Room Rate Guide For Scorpio Villas

Scorpio Villas is a budget accommodation in Malindi, Kenya. It offers you not just a relaxed, casual atmosphere for your seaside vacation on the Indian Ocean with AfricanMecca, but is located close to the main town of Malindi (view map) so you can take a short transfer ride of less than one mile for a meal in one of the local restaurants or for a personal, cultural exploration foray. Scorpio is a three-acre villa property of well-kept gardens, preserved shady with lush indigent vegetation of gently rustling palm trees, stately baobabs and pretty bougainvillea. Carefully manicured lawns and distinct pathways around the resort add to its charm. Note that the hotel is not located on the beach. It is a short walk way through an internal pathway to the sands and expansive ocean. This mid-size resort has 46 rooms located in dual story buildings that are constructed Swahili style with sloping, makuti thatch roofs and furnished with Lamu furniture. East African objets d'art are placed everywhere to give you the impression of living in a neo-traditional Swahili home. The rooms at the resort offer non-frill comfort and have the basic amenities characteristic of a value accommodation. The rooms have a balcony or patio depending on the level where they are located. They are also air-conditioned. The beds have mosquito netting and TVs with satellite connection provide any news and entertainment you need. The rooms also include a mini fridge stocked with chargeable drinks and you can hire in-room safety box for your valuables. The attached room bathroom includes a shower.

The hotel serves adequate meals buffet-style in the resort restaurant. They offer you traditional African cuisine with a sea-food option and range of Italian preparations including pasta (A good number of guests are from Italy, and the hotel does lack demographic diversity dependent on the season). The kitchen uses fused ingredients and platters of special Swahili and Indian food are served on specific days of the week. The resort also has a bar located beside the lounge where you can enjoy drinks while listening to live musical performances. You also have the option of ordering cool drinks at the poolside bar while sunbathing in the sunbeds or lazily floating in the water. The resort has three salt water swimming pools for a therapeutic, rejuvenating swim on your coastal travels in Africa. There is an in-house gym where you can work out, and the recreational center equipped with a pool table, table tennis table and dartboard. The little library cum reading room has African literature you can delve into. Malindi is a distinct beach holiday destination in Kenya compared to Mombasa and has much to offer its visitors. Explore the Gede Ruins, a fascinating place that will not give up its secrets or take a walk through old Malindi where its shops still sell traditional wares like Swahili hats, kikoys, spices and beaded jewelry. You could pick a trail to tour through the Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve and sight some rare bird and small animal species. Malindi has a rich marine world for you to explore. View them in their natural habitat with a snorkeling or diving expedition in marine park or you may opt to proceed to the deep waters of the Malindi’s Indian Ocean for a thrilling fishing excursion. Combine your beach stays with a Satao Camp safari to Tsavo East National Park. Check in with AfricanMecca Safaris for more details of the Scorpio Villas and other possible activities while on your beach trip in Malindi.
