Lodge is a small, relaxed family run hotel located on the north eastern side of the exotic East African island of Zanzibar. Nestled on a headland, amongst lush tropical gardens, The Shooting Star
Lodge overlooks the beautiful fine white sands and coconut palms of Kiwengwa Beach. The atmosphere is intimate and tranquil with spectacular views across a coral reef to the azure Indian Ocean beyond.

• Accommodation is built to a high standard in traditional Zanzibari style with white lime washed walls, high beam ceilings and large windows. The Sea View Cottages all contain beautifully hand-carved wooden Zanzibari beds draped with tailored mosquito net canopies. Cottages and Lodge Rooms are also equipped with electric fans to complement Kiwengwa's cool sea breezes. The accommodations are specifically organized in the following categories:
• Sea View Cottages: Shooting Star
Lodge has six spacious en-suite rooms with private verandahs overlooking the sea. The cottages are set apart from the bar and restaurant to enable residents to relax and enjoy the perfect peace and tranquility. All rooms have breath-taking views of Kiwengwa beach, the coral reef and the ocean.
• Lodge Rooms: There are three simply furnished, en-suite rooms built together as a lodge, each with its own terrace leading on to the flourishing tropical gardens, with views through to the Indian Ocean. They are set closer to the main bar, restaurant and sunbathing areas.
• Bandas: The accommodation has three makuti bandas available for 'barefoot' travelers and visitors on a low budget. The bandas are built from palm fronds and provide simple furniture, mosquito nets and a private seating area. There are shared shower and washroom facilities available.
