Matemwe Beach Village is a Zanzibari guesthouse, not a hotel and not a resort and the owners regard this as a matter of pride. Matemwe Beach has it all, but shares it with few. With only 16 rooms, and one completely self-contained suite, on large grounds, visiting guests have the benefit of a secluded property with all the services but at a mid-range rate.
At Matemwe Beach Village guests relax and make themselves at home among the books, games and huge cushions. They make great friends amongst the staff and among the other guests in an atmosphere of relaxed hospitality and friendliness.

• Each large, well-appointed, self-contained room is furnished in a comfortable beach style. The hotel offers a constant supply of water (cold) and generators ensure a 24-hour supply of electricity. At this time, the accommodation does not have mains
• The Asali Suite (Honeymooners Suite) is a relatively large structure about 50 meters beyond the last room, out on its own above the beach. Its organic open design, under a soaring makuti roof, is centered around a small plunge pool with the bedroom behind it and the bathroom, lounge and kitchen areas to either side. A coconut wood deck fronts the structure. Indigenous vegetation screens the suite from the beach providing privacy. The suite is literally a hop, skip and jump from the beach.
• The room is usually booked to include breakfast and dinner. Service is provided by two dedicated staff, who cook and clean and generally see to your every need. You can choose whether to enjoy this luxurious seclusion or whether to take some meals down at the lodge.
